You have such love in your heart....you set the example of what we all should strive for...positivity and love.

I give thanks for your presence in this world, and I hope that others will follow your example

my big gripe is folks who talk while they are holding the joint and then get lost in space and keep on talking and talking and forget to pass it on... most unhippie

Well, there's hippys and then there's hippycrites. Those the ones who try to appear like hippys, hang out with hippys, trying to be "cool" like hippys, but they are also the ones who are users. They bum your sacraments, they make all kinds of promises of helping with chores and stuff but then don't keep their promises, they waste food, clothing, money (if they even have any), and once they are gone, there is a huge mess to clean up. But unhippylike behavior is a strange way to put it, 'cause people who behave "unhippylike" ain't really hippys to begin with...

Unacceptable behavior which hippies are known to engage in? Hmmm....

Mooching. Hey, we all get by with a little help from our friends, but some people constantly have their hand out. You don't have to get into the rat race, but at least pull your own weight in this world!

Ageism again. We used to say Don't trust anyone over 30, now we don't trust anyone under 30. We're all in this together!

Overindulging. Some people act like it's a contest to see who can get the most fucked up. If they don't start to show a little moderation they'll discover why it's called "fucked up".

Naivete. The world is not all peace, love, flowers and sunshine. Get real!

Agreed. My wife complains that I work too much. In my opinion I only work so that the family will be better off in the long run. I would like to retire in 25 years maybe 30 tops. That is not going to happen if I don't work my ass off.

    1. wearing a visor
    2. wearing a hat at an angle
    3. playing rap at a festival
    4. shooting up anything
    5. pushing anything on someone who is not interested
    6. listening to Brittany Spears
    7. ratting, narking, informing, rolling over, or whatever
Actually now that I think about it I am answering this question as if you had asked it this way:

Is there a behavior that you would honestly say is totally unacceptable to a hippie way of thinking?

If you meant it the way that you asked it, here we go:
    1. Flying a sign (or begging), more than once every two years (Plan better!)
    2. wearing a hat or visor at an angle
    3. playing rap at a festival
    4. shooting up anything
    5. pushing anything on someone who is not interested
    6. ratting, narking, informing, rolling over, or whatever

I actually think that you should continue questioning people twice your own age. They are older & wiser and that makes them the right people to ask. It's not your fault if this particular person decided to ignore your question all together. He obviously has nothing worthwhile to add. Most will be more helpful. :)

Masturbating to pornography deplicting Jesus Christ completely nude and fully erect on the cross.

Now that's truly not hippie behaviour.

I dont think that the form of ideal that hippies have, could really cause the world to change, i think theres things on grander scales, which were all part of.

Ok I just read and reread the thread from start to finish. My interpretation of the original thread was perhaps a comment of how sometimes people who come to their conclusions about life through smoking Cannabis, and taking psychedelics, can't imagine that one could actually have the same revelations without partaking of these substances. Maybe we might get a little over enthusiastic about this when people say they don't need any artificial means to get high, they are natually stoned, or whatever. Is that what was meant by pushing another to use, maybe insisting that they can't reach hippiehood or enlightment or share your personal revelations, without some additive?

It seems that the longer a person is alive the more chance they will be older and wiser, but it ain't necessarily so....................

Maybe unhippielike behavior ismaking moremoney than you actually need and being miserable everyday, andnot figuring out what to do about it.
