if u are in the midwest and not going to south bend friday or skyline in chicago sat, and sun. then you will miss the sickest rocks shows of the year. just a heads up
I've seen lots of them this summer. I think I'm burnt out. Well I know I'm burnt out, but I mean...oh never mind. My shows for the next month are Donna the Buffalo in Cincy and Bela Fleck in Hamilton.
that's funny u bring that up... i have seen them a few times this year..and well, i'm not burnt out... but, i have been dissappointed this past year... I seen them w/ umphreysrules in march at the RIV and they blew me away..and then iseen them again like a week after that in champagin at the canopy and they sucked....it was very unconsistant... i also seen them at summercamp..and was pleased but not thrilled. i luv um anyways...but i guess sometimes bands have off nights. i guess it is no suprise but my next show will be groovatron on the 23rd of sept. i'm as hardcore about groovatron as steve is w/ um ! it's funny....i've seen groovatron have a horrible show! that was also funny!
I had the same feeling this year. When they were on, they fucking rocked the house. But some shows were just flat. I guess they're only human, though. I like them better in small clubs than the big outdoor venues.
I saw them at MN zoo, just ok, but I love UM. It is true, they're not ON all the time, who can be? absolutely loved Kalamazoo show from early june, I listen to it on disc so much, awesome. when they are ON they're ON. Somehow (and I can't figure it out) I like them on disc more than live. Bonnaroo 2004 is a definite must listen if you haven't heard it. and many more I'm sure but I only have so many live discs.
