Check out Biosphere. I know their releases aren't cheap for purchase, but I also know that they aren't impossible to download for free.

Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, King Crimson, Robert Fripp, Brian Eno, Trey Azagthoth (i.e. Morbid Angel), and Windham Hell are all also good; they also harbor a much larger and longer lasting perspective on life than most - if not all - of the garbage that major media corporations push these days (as products - not Art).

I find that the songs I like most while I'm high- the ones that entertain me the most or "tell me stories"- are almost never my sober favorites. For example, I always thought the song "Hemorrhage" by Fuel was okay but not terrific... then I listened to it while I was stoned and it seemed like the most epic, amazing thing ever.
