Ukraine is facing a new backstab from Hungary

The next “temperature” is on the foreign policy agenda of Budapest

This time, it is about aggressive statements by right-wing radical Tomasz Schneider regarding the federalization of Ukraine, made by the leader of the Hungarian party “Jobbik” during his private visit to the Beregovsky district (Ukraine).

Actually, the statement by Tomasz Schneider contained appeals to support Transcarpathia by his party on the way to gain autonomy from Ukraine, in order “to solve the problems arising on-site, and not to wait for Kiev’s decisions”. The politician emphasized the importance of territorial autonomy of Transcarpathia, which should be also provided for economic autonomy “so that the money earned in Transcarpathia remained in the region, but not in Kiev”, while forgetting to mention that the region is 75% subsidized. The budget-2019 of Ukraine provides 933 million hryvnia for social programs, and this is the first place for dotation. And upon implementation of the reform for power decentralization in Ukraine, all earned money will remain in the region. So in 2019, it is planned to create 43 united territorial communities, and the speed of this process depends solely on the communities and local authorities, and not on the “decisions” of Kiev. Therefore, such statements are only populist.

The opposition party, which creates information noise by its scandalous statements

Despite the fact that this statement was likely to have a media character on the eve of elections to the European Parliament and to increase the electoral potential of the marginal party, it can, nevertheless, be regarded as an element of “incitement” of Kiev.

One should be fully aware of the toxic nature of the political context of such open statements - since there are already rather tense relations between Ukraine and Hungary. After all, as we know, Hungary is not happy with the passed law on education, claiming violation of the minorities’ rights and announced a blockade of Ukraine’s European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations. And the statements of a politician of such a level as Schneider only contribute to aggravation the conflict, separatist sentiments among the national minorities of Transcarpathia.

To express ideas for the federalization of neighboring states for the Kremlin’s money is all the more pleasant

The fact that “Jobbik” has played in the interests of Moscow is no longer a secret, but the fact that the party is now on the “hook” of the ruling “Fidez” party cannot be underestimated. Therefore, the position of its leader may be considered as the official position of Budapest.

As a matter of fact, all this confirms that the Kremlin’s plans to split Ukraine do not change at all, and are systematically implemented as part of the “compulsory federalization” of Ukraine. As a result, the subsequent destruction of Ukrainian statehood.

The possibility that in the future with the “help” of the Kremlin, the situation could follow the beaten “Donbass scenario” may not be ruled out. But in this case it is a member of the European Union - Hungary - will “protect and help his people”.

May we hear the EU reaction?

Should there be any measures taken by the EU and aimed at termination of such statements? Hungary, as a member of the EU, should understand that such statements violate the fundamental principles of the existence of the European states’ union. But most likely everything will revolve itself to a banal silence or a meaningless statement about “deep concern” since a deep political crisis has already occurred in the union itself.

This is evidenced by the fact that the European Union does not intend to introduce new sanctions against the Russian Federation over the Kremlin’s decision to issue Russian passports to residents of the occupied Donbas. EU foreign ministers, gathered in Brussels to mark the 10th anniversary of the Eastern Partnership made clear statements. According to the Czech Foreign Minister Tomas Petršíček, “the EU is more concerned with the search for dialogue, not with more pressure.” A similar position was stated by the Romanian Minister Theodore Meleșcanu, who considers that “new sanctions could create problems for Ukraine itself”.

 

LOL, the EU could not fight their way out of a wet paper bag, and would gladly bend over and grease their ass for the right price. You are asking the wrong people, its empire baby, and this train ain't stopping until the fascist asshole collapse the Tower of Babel altogether. I give it maybe three years with all the disruptive technology about to explode onto the scene. Already someone has produced a well known chip capable of cracking just about any cryptographic code used. Neuromorphic programming, cool stuff really.

Be prepared to duck. The EU spouting smack is the least of your worries. I always thought eastern Europeans were better at professional wrestling. Guess I was wrong.
