You don't like it? The door's over there. Don't let it hit you in the arse. You know what? I don't mind swearing. I don't mind if someone peppers their posts with "fucking" or "****" or whatever, in fact TheFly used to do it a lot and it was fine. But when I log on and find a fucking HUGE wall of threads that are all "fucking bastard man", "cunty bollocks", "hipforums is fucking shit", and the posts themselves sound like they've been written by an obsessive compulsive drunk five year old with Tourettes whose teacher told them "go onto forums and whatever you do, don't fucking make sense"...if I had a picture of Skip with a single tear rolling down his cheek, this would be the perfect opportunity for posting it. Good God. I weep for the glory days of this forum. Nirvana Princess come back, all is forgiven.
Also, how can you talk about this place not having a "genuine vibe" when you go and spray hostilities like this thread around?
I can agree on the newbie thing; pretty hard to get going when there's an establishment. But then again, I have nobody to blame but myself because eventually you do just have to jump in. This thing says I've been a member since September of 2004, but the vast majority of my posts are recent and about what I'm listening to, which is a bit of a cop out... But I've been on other forums for years, started some, left some, lurk on some...some are still the same people that started, some have been through a few wars and factions of left...others, people just come and go. Obviously, I don't know what went on here "before" but there's no going back so... and I get more of a vibe here than some other areas of this forum, so there's possibilities
Can it be true? Power 13 making a serious post? What has the world come to. Nirvana Princess, come back! :hysterica
To be fair, I think Paul was drunk when he posted that. Most of the time he seems pretty chilled out. I'm not too offended by swearing, even if he did call me a **** or whatever Just take it with a pinch of salt really....
Seems like he's drunk half the time he posts. And we say Luke is the forum drunkard (edit) and I'm not offended by swearing either, God knows I do enough of it myself. But seriously, read the original post out in a "drunken hobo muttering" voice, and it's uncanny. If it were possible to bum a cig off someone through the internet...well...
Coors Light? What is that? How can you get anything lighter than Coors? That's just like saying Water Light, or Piss Light....
admittedly there's not much to Coors Light...it would take three times that amount to get me drunk. but it still tastes better than carling...just.
coors light? never even heard of it...tho i did get a juggler slap for drinking lambrini diet at bristol last year
LMFAO .... American beer sucks. I used to love the comercials for Genesee Beer (or 'genny' as it's called) it used to say "made from the crystal clear waters of the genesee river." I used to live right on the Genesee river, and trust me, there was nothing crystal nor clear about it. And as far as Paul's topic: I'm here, would have been here ages ago but hadn't stumbled across the place. Need to get a router though, as hubby just got XBox360 and he's hogging the Internet connection now. *grumbles* *JOINS THE GROUP HUG!!!!*
Have to agree, American beer sucks. Gotta go with Czech beer mate! Staropramen, Budvar, Pilsner Urquell, Bernard, Branik etc etc... they's all good.
Sometime last year, I would have defended American beer, at least the microbreweries. Where I come from, Shiner Bock was as good a beer as you could get, and in my mind, it was every bit as good as any ale I could get at any of the 2934329 pubs within a mile of my house. But my last trip "home" changed all that. Everything tasted weird, especially the beer. All of my usual micro-brews (Shiner Bock, Fat Tire, Sierra Nevada, Abita, even Sam Adams) tasted rather bland and uninspiring. And weak. Very, very weak. I had a guinness at one restaurant and even it tasted bad, which leads me to conclude the problem with American beer has to be the water more than anything else. Because even the Budweiser that's bottled here tastes better than it does in the US. And it's a bit stronger... Fortunately I had Mexican beer....
woooooooooo hugs!!!! Soz Trombone mate, but American beer is purely bottled piss and water. You just can't beat the Europeans when it comes to beer. The Czech Republic, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, Cyprus etc etc they all brew bloody good beer. Also gotta recommend some Japanese beers like Kirin, Sapporo, Asahi. They are nice too, but still not as good as European beer.
Oh yes. I am familiar with both European and Japanese beers. A bit too familar with some of them. You forgot Irish. They make a pretty good beer too...
