im sorry but your totally wrong and yes you are listening to the wrong songs go out and get Is there anybody out there? which is the wall live and listen to the solos in the happiest days of our lives and the second guitar solo in comfortably numb when i first heard them these solos made my adrenaline just start flowing

 

DAAAAAMN....all I've got to say....well I could say alot, but I'm not going to get into everything I wanna say here.....Pink Floyd is my favorite band ever. They have touched me in SO many way's, I can't even comprehend the amazing thing's that listening to their music has done for me. If it wasn't for them, alot of thing's would b e different in my life right now. And I'm sure you have a band that has done the same thing for you, The floyd just happens to me mine.

They have nothing going on musicly???? are you absolutely insane? Have you HEARD Pink floyd? I mean seriously man, theres no possible way that that statement could stand true. I mean...I..I...I can't even express! I am lost for words.

I agree, when I was little and my parents tried to play floyd for me I remember thinking how boring it was. But a few years ago I started appreciating them and how amazing they really are.

David Gilmour is one of the finest guitar players in the land. I measure that by his ability to make you feel. Whenever I listen to "Time" on "Pulse" the solo brings me to tears almost every time.

I never managed to get into Floyd at all either... I had their albums a while back but it never seemed to tickle my fancy, so I ended up selling them on to a better home..

Like madcrappie said though.. It's good that not everyone likes everything.. I'm like that with Zeppelin too. I'm glad there are people that loathe them too.. Sadly there are also a lot of people who proclaim they are the "biggest fan" and think Jimmy and Robert are "so sexy"... (but that's just my snobbish attitude about the music I love )

 

I think Led Zeppelin has some amazing music and Jimmy Page is a phenomenal guitar player but as I love some of Zepplin's music, I really, really dislike the band members themselves.

 

Pink floyd has to be one of the most musically genious bands ever concived in time. DSOTM, Meddle, Atom Hearts mother, Piper at the gates of dawn, and nearly every other pink floyd album is pure glory. I could agree that past The wall they werent that great...but they made some of the greatest songs of all time.

 

just because its not jimmy page busting out with some insanely fast solo, or hendrix playing some crazy sounds youve never heard before doesnt mean its not good. you cant listen to the guitar or the drums or the vocals of pink floyd. their music is something that has to be listened to as a whole. you know, how the drums and guitar and vocals all match up and create a sound that is one, not three seperate parts playing at the same time. pink floyd to me isnt something you listen to, its something you feel and experience. few bands can conjure up emotions and play with as much feeling as pink floyd. try listening to them on shrooms. i swear to god, it will change the way you look at the world.
