So your everyday facebook political meme discussion today and a presumably libertarian friend of friend responds 'How do we rank in the category of "number people who don't need government to attend to their every need"?'

And it occurs to me how divides in political ideology and association block any and all progress with regard to real social issues.

So let's talk about how the U.S.A. the self-proclaimed "freest country in the world" compares to other developed countries.

What do you think are the causes/problems/solutions.
