The/'our' Government have made a right cock-up of process, With the re-opening of Night Clubs and major Music Sporting events - 'All bets are off' and with the removal of directives replaced by 'guidance' so are the Apps. Employers are not going to encourage this, as it seems they see this as seeing staff shortage that lead onto loss of revenue. Individuals aren't going to use it as it prevents them from 'enjoying themselves' - unless Use it to their advantage and attend (i.e. Glastonbury' type) events of their choosing
The bottom line being, with enforcement on the issues of PPE and Social distancing only being a last resort, and to be used when Public order was at risk, the use of the App was not really going to work - and as not everybody has it anyway, not really going to work. In the end, it can only be a matter of individual conscience
COVID Figures = UP Covid-19 in the UK: How many coronavirus cases are there in my area? - BBC News It seems this is a trend that is bound to increase. The long wait for for Clubs to re-open saw Clubbers interact with exuberant interaction that is bound to have consequences. They seem more interested in getting out and having a social life, than taking precautions. Whilst can see the value of the COVID passport (when it becomes available) I have concerns of the Data held, and the Cost of it - seems like it could be 'another way to make Money and with the tracker style chips that can be easily inserted to the E- thing seems a bit, Big Brother-ish awareness or or potentially be.
Is the drop in Covid cases creating a ‘false peak’? Covid-19 in the UK: How many coronavirus cases are there in my area? - BBC News <><><><><><><><><><> After the number of daily cases fell for a fifth day in a row, here’s a reminder that we may have to wait another two weeks to see if the third wave has peaked. Professor Adam Kucharski of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine warned that it was too soon to judge the effects of the end of legal restrictions and reopening of the economy in England on 19 July. It has been suggested the recent peak can be partly explained by mass gatherings during Euro 2020. Since then the UK has experienced a heatwave and schools have closed for the summer holidays. Yeah I think it will still rise 2 fold yet.We dont yet know how this Delta which is highly infectious is going to spread after the recent easing of all restrictions.
"KEEP CALM and MINDFUL" should be the key watchwords. One has to live, - though not at the expese of others, amd it is the 'carrier' element of the contracted when they meet up with the vulnerable that is one concern, - the other is the unknown. As 'X-File' as it sounds, - what if one of the new an/or existing variants has a dormant side(*) and all those maskless, unsocial distancing individuals, may reap the consequences to it at latter time
I think some of the vulnerable people should manage their own situation better instead of expecting others to manage it for them .Things like shopping at quieter times or better still getting it delivered. The supermarkets should do more and give them priority in that regard

Ah yes Kent virus variant 'to sweep the world' The coronavirus variant which was first detected in Kent last year is set to become the world's dominant strain, according to the head of the UK's genetic surveillance programme. Prof Sharon Peacock told the BBC's Newscast podcast the new variant has "swept the country" and "it's going to sweep the world, in all probability". The Kent variant was originally detected in September 2020 and has since been found in more than 50 countries. But Prof Peacock said vaccines approved for use in the UK appeared to work well against the existing variants of the virus in the country (Those Southerners!) = LOL
A new variant has been detected (the Beta strain) which is worrying Scientists, since it is even more easily transmissable than the Delta strain.
It may be more transmissable but I doubt it . That was the main worry of the Delta .Its difficult comparing strains when it comes to its ability to spread . As long as we keep our borders open and there are unvaccinated people around the world ,then these variants will keep coming . I'm hoping to see the day when it transfers back into animals as that will be a signal that we have won our fight. Until then scientists are going to be in a constant battle in bringing out new booster vaccines in the same way the flu ones are developed . Some of it is guess work as well .
Yes that is an issue of real concern, the defensive measures of prevention employed 'at home' are out into jeopardy when a foreign element is then involved. (for those old enough to remember) Our borders were still tested when Rabies was rife - and despite the seriousness of the disease, there were still some that flaunted the rules and put those at risk is an example of why vigillance should still be maintained.
In respect of this, we (or at least a vast number) eat animals - and so, so many disregard/pay little attention to the Health and Safety regulations we have surrounding food and environmental laws - with the punisment - for those who flaunt it, being worth the risk. (Covid or No Covid)
COVID-19 could cause male infertility and sexual dysfunction – but vaccines do not Contrary to myths circulating on social media, COVID-19 vaccines do not cause erectile dysfunction and male infertility. What is true: SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, poses a risk for both disorders. Until now, little research has been done on how the virus or the vaccines affect the male reproductive system. But recent investigations by physicians and researchers here at the University of Miami have shed new light on these questions. The team, which includes me, has discovered potentially far-reaching implications for men of all ages – including younger and middle-aged men who want to have children
New 'medical freedom' law outlaws requiring COVID-19 vaccine to access public spaces New Hampshire residents cannot be required to get a COVID-19 vaccine in order to "access any public facility, any public benefit, or any public service" according to a new bill signed into law by Republican Gov. Chris Sununu.
