We all make them occasionally. My worst is typing larger instead of lager. But it is predictive text that gets me. My BIL sends the oddest messages at times. I always switch predictive text off, for that reason. Have you made embarrassing typos? Or sent or received messages using predictive text, causing confusion?
When explaining to a student that low blood flow through infected tissue could allow micro organisms to reproduce before leukocyte's could eliminate them, I somehow ended up with "micro orgasms". The problem was that the young female student replied by asking me what parts of the body needed the greatest supply of blood and added that 140 over 60 blood pressure equals one hell of a good bang. I simply replied by congratulating her on highlighting the risk pressures that could trigger an aortic aneurysm. We could have gone on with double meaning cardio vascular terminology all day, but fortunately she knew where to stop. LOL
I once meant to send "I hope your mom does" to a friend but it changed it to "I hope your mom dies". Luckily my friend saw the humor in the mistake. Another time I meant to type "I don't spread rumors" but somehow it changed it to "I don't spread gonorrhea" which is true but not my intended message.
I used to type 'Blond' instead of 'Blonde' to please the spell check. I now type 'Blonde' instead of 'Blond' to please the reader. It's a funny old world!
i'm usually a pretty good proofreader. sometimes when i'm drunk a minor typo might sneak in, but it's rarely anything worse than missing an odd letter or something like that. i am sometimes pretty amazed at what my phone thinks i'm trying to say. but i almost always catch it before sending.
yeah, I hate when I’m in a hurry and push “send” on mistakes autocorrect and auto typing makes for me. I really wish those features never existed, as all too many times technology wants to think for us, and in this case, I think, technology is trying to make us look stupid and irrelevant!!
sometimes they correct to really random stuff, but until they make a touch screen that doesn't consistently type the letter next to the one i'm clearly touching, it does save a lot of backspacing.
