    Bad news guys-

with experience and understanding the mystic part of tripping becomes transparent.

The ego-loss and personal revelation aspects of the trip lose thier profound nature; the chemistry of the trip becomes apparent. ALL trips are the same. It is merely the intensity and interpretation that is flexible.

This is not to say that tripping is useless- far from it. But eventually, one of three perspectives is achieved:

    1) boredom with tripping- common

    2) fanatacism - those who attribute the drug(s) with magical power

    3) incorporation - the useful aspects of the drug(s) become availble
    WITHOUT ingestion

I use tripping for fun and as a teaching method; the magic is long gone for me.

as ram dass described... after a while of tripping all the time.. he had completely 'cleaned' himself out and was able to instantly attain illumination in the void of the white light and be able to hold that incredible state through the whole experience.. then the inevitable coming down... he described how after doing it so much he got completely depressed becuase of the circle that you go in.. he wasnt able to figure out how to 'stay' in the light and being forced back to reality was depressing...

geck is right.... sooooo right. When people think LSD is "the key to the universe" and bullshit like that, they usually end up as strange people who seem off their rockers to those in contact with reality. After you trip so many times, you realize that it's all a chemical reaction.... but it's sooooo fucking fun. :) It's when people make too much of it, that they get fucked.

its still shows you a little something bout consciousness

and learning about ourselves.. that is the key to understanding the universe

    Gimme a break.

    It's not ambrosia.

When used with care it's a tool. Nothing more, nothing less.

And with tripping- like life- it's quality, not quanity that counts.

Those who indulge too often cannot reach a beneficial state. In other words, it's a burn-out.

yes, its shows you that 'this' level of consciousness is not always the only option, that there are several different 'levels' of exsistence that we arent normally able to tune into..

and I think anyone that does psychedelics (well at least those who do it quite alot) should definitly be at least attempting to 'learn' how to activate these parts of your brain / how to shift your consciousness.. so you can reach higher states of consciousness while not on drugs...

and i definitly agree with the filter being removed.. its like our brains take everything and arrange some things to form what we precieve as 'reality' and then it just throws away the 'other stuff'.. and if you take the filter off, or turn it off.. you see all the 'extra stuff' thats all around being hidden from your normal level of perception. especially when you get into things like energy waves and particle movement.. things you cant normally see/feel/hear etc etc.. you can pick up while functioning under an expanded awareness...

Geck.... How do you think michael filled himself with so much bullshit? Anywho, it's a tool that opens your gate of consciousness so that you are more conscious. It is NOT the key to the universe. What the fuck is the key to the universe anyways? I didn't know the universe was locked. In another thread, Michael claims he takes acid everyday. Right pal. You have no clue what you are talking about michael. "seeing into the spirit world." <--- This is how people make too much of lsd and end up looneys. It is a tool, nothing more, nothing less. When you preach to people that LSD is the key to the universe and will teach you everything you need to know, you cause them to anticipate this type of ultimate knowledge. This is one of the reasons people will go nuts with drugs. They make too much of the experience. So basically, you're just spreading more BS Michael.

maybe by "seeing into the spirit world" he means operating on the spiritual level of consciousness

and the people that "make too much" of the experience are better then those who "make too little or nothing at all" of the experience.. and no one should go by what other say the experience is.. they should listen to what they say and count it as posibilities or as some what of a partial map to assist them in their own exploration.. shits going to be different for everyone becuase everyone's head is filled with much different expectations, goals, fears, desires, past experiences, etc etc...

and as for the key thingy...

there is sooooo much in the universe that we dont understand.. and we cant understand in the way our thinking is limited by the normal constraints of reality and our ego's.. science and everything trys to come up with theories and laws and whatnot but as history will show you.. many many different kinds of thinking have been changed over and over again and new laws and theories have arose, especially with the speed at which technology is increasing.. but understanding how our consciousness is formed and is attached (well not always hah) to our physical body and seeing how the universe and chaos within is like that without would probably be a very important step in understanding the universe.. And the increased awareness that psychedelics provide allow us to experience new things that we didnt neccesarilly know were there or that we werent neccesarilly sure about..

like Leary said that taking a psychedelic drug is like looking through a microscope.. you suddenly become aware of this invisible world thats all around that you never knew exsisted before you had done it..

Dude, trust me when I say that people who make too much of the LSD experience are usually not all too stable. To say that it is better to make too much than too little or nothing out of the experience is bs. You say this, and this is an assumption on my part please correct me if I am wrong, because you have never known anybody who made too much of the lsd experience and developed schizophrenia, or another psychotic disorder. The people who don't blow it out of proportion usually stay healthy. I'll drop mostly any time cause I think it is the funnest shit, I am not making anything spiritual out of it anymore. Acid will help you realize some things, but being content with what you suddenly realize and using the information to your advantage is the tough part. For example: one thing lsd and mushrooms made me realize, was the overall pointlessness and filth of money. I throw away at least 40 hours of my week working for a huge machine, whose parts are people slaving each day so that the rich can get richer. People kill family and friends for money. People lie to family and friends for money. If you live in America, without money, you don't get your freedom. I could go on for a while. Now, you ask what the fuck I did about it. Nothing. I accepted it. I live in America, a society whose sole objective is to get rich. Without working and making money, I would die of starvation or from the cold winter in new england. You have to be realistic about these ideas that come to you, don't blow it out of proportion. I didn't quit my job and burn all of my money, as much as I wished I could.

Also, LSD will make any fuckbag think they have found the answer to everything. They just feel great from the drugs. I've heard this so many times "I've found the meaning of life" and when I ask what is it "I can't put it in words." Yea, that's right, cause you're fucking partially psychotic from the drugs, and you don't know how to interpret all of these feelings. Thinking this way leads to delusions and shit, it's just not pretty.
