I always wonder how the narrators of those shows feel when they are reading their script.

yeah, i've never seen one of those shows that i can stand. like everyone else apparently, my parents watch garbage so i'm forced to sit through it during visits.

i have cable because i like to have it on in the background when i'm doing whatever i'm actually doing at home, and it's really not that much more money on top of my internet that i'm already getting from the cable company anyway. but i pretty much always just leave it on comedy central at all times. unless they're showing kevin hart or something, in which case i can usually find a decent movie on some other channel.

i do watch a few shows, but i do that on hulu (or occasionally youtube for older shows) because i never remember when they're on and if i do i'm usually not in the mood to watch them anyway. and the shows i watch all admit to being scripted.

also, i went a few years without a tv at one point, but i never bragged about it.

There is a reason why they call a TV an idiot box. I watch some stuff on HULU, documentaries, news shows & they have a good selection of Criterion Art house movies. Other than that I refuse to watch mainstream TV and the dumb-ass commercials.
I remember when people got cable because there were NO commercials. Mother fuckers are slick, now they got fools PAYING to watch commercials. Reality shows?? Oh please don't get me started. -_-

I grew up without cable. I've noticed with a lot of people watching TV is like a bad habit. Some people just keep it on all the time without any regards to what they're watching; it's just a mindless distraction.

I begged my mom to get cable growing up and of course she waited until after I moved out to finally get it. I'm glad for it now though. I can sit and stare at a wall and be more entertained than I am watching reality tv.

I honestly get this weird depressed feeling if I watch tv for more than an hour at a time.

That is how I feel. Most of my dvd shows are 22 minutes long. So that means people watching it on tv are watching 8 minutes of commercials.

When I see sat/cable at someone else's house, the first thing I notice are the commercials, especially for kid's stuff. It's sickening. I also can't believe how many new disposable products there are.

After getting rid of cable for a couple of years, we got it back for football. I also enjoy Intervention and Dexter.

Sorry to be a contrarian but I enjoy watching TV from NFL & Red Zone, to the Retro stations which offer old TV shows like Lost in Space, Star Trek, and Night Gallery, to the Science Channel which offer Wonders of the Solar System, Alien Encounters, and Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman :2thumbsup:

I’m just sad over the demise of my 3 favorite shows over the last decade The Sopranos, 24, and The Shield

Never saw a reality show I liked, and I don't watch television.. The only thing television is good for is sports, as live events are still inconvenient to watch online.
I download the shows that I want to watch and watch them on my laptop. Convenient, free, and no commercials.

Lots of really good shows out there, anything HBO is usually awesome.
