Errrr...I see myself in your wife haha.
Sounds like something I would say. Oops. I'm a (closeted) hopeless romantic but cant stand overly cheesy romance

You gotta learn her love language. You guys just arent speaking the same love language

God what era is that thing from? The 1980s? :p
Theyre so much cuter now. You're just lucky I cannot find mine atm for it's awesomeness pink and purple camo :p but look how cute they are now. Much more lighter, USB rechargeable, airport friendly in handbag. ;)

Very nice! My wife's dates in college discovered the way to turn her on was to give her a couple of strong rum and Cokes. The formula still works. After a couple of drinks, all I have to do is kiss her and cuddle with her a bit, and she is ready to make love.

Candy Gal and Meliai - I wasn't even overly "cheesy." I think I said I needed her like flowers need rain and a few other warm & fuzzy things. The "flowers need rain" part was the part she thought was corny, I believe. It was an honest attempt to convey my feelings and not use time-worn clichés starting with "Hey babe …………" That opener is threadbare & beaten to DEATH. But it was roadkill to her I guess.

I haven't written a romantic note or card like that since for her. Once bitten ………..

By sucking eggs do you mean like the testicles?

No offense but..that is a little corny.

Seriously, love languages. Look 'em up. Some people are just more practical, or more physical, or whatever, and dont get off on things like love notes. She could have been more sensitive with your feelings about it but it also seems self defeating to hold it against her. Just figure out what sort of romance speaks to her and try that

Meliai - If ladies don't want men to act like insensitive jerks - then don't act like insensitive jerks yourselves. If women want us guys to be sensitive and appreciate your romantic gestures, then be polite and appreciate our efforts as well. So some gestures aren't the ideal ………… isn't it the thought and motivation behind the gesture that's important??

We've been married for 33 years, and we're happy together - so it worked out. But no more romantic notes from me. One dagger to the heart is enough. Her comment hit me like a brick to the face.

Irminsul - It wasn't about wanting to fuck, friend. I was telling her how much I love her - overall - everything about her. I was trying to convey my true feelings for her. Sex wasn't even part of it.

Ummm.. can you write a romantic, smutty novel? I'd read it lol.. I know people enjoy their porn or whatever but I prefer reading a sexy excerpt from a book.. this was sort of like that.. bravo!
