Paul Joseph Watson, another stallion in Alex Jones' stable of InfoWars right wing propagandists. No wonder you're so mixed up! I can see where your ideas are coming from:Anti-feminism, anti-Muslim, Anti-anybody who cares about Civil rights. And you think he's "conservative? Try right wing extremist. Conservative: 1. Favoring traditional views and values; tending to oppose change. 2. Traditional or restrained in style: a conservative dark suit. 3. Moderate; cautious: a conservative estimate. conservative
The 60's counterculture arose in contrast to the norms of the 50's. Uniformity was the rule. The Beats were the first to rebel against the mostly conservative society. The counterculture was progressive. Today we have a multiplicity of "norms". Conservatism being one. Conservatism hearkens back to the norms of the 50's so it isn't a counter to anything, its a continuation, or some might say a regression to the 50's. Appropriating the term "counterculture" to describe conservatism is a form of concern appropriation. Concern appropriation is the act of appearing to adopt the values of one's opponent while using their own language against them. So now the conservatives label themselves the "counterculture" thus implying they are the ones fighting for change when in reality all they are doing is stealing a term that has come to mean progressive values. Conservatism is:
If you're referring to particular brands of conservatism, such as the old neocon right wing of the last decade, then I'd agree. [/QUOTE] I stopped listening to Alex Jones a few years ago. He's a feral animal with high blood pressure and I find him very irritating. I wish he'd step aside and let PJW run the show. Favoring traditional family values and gender roles has become countercultural in this day in age of condemning the stay-at-home mother in the name of modern feminism. That's why the left is hellbent on tearing the family apart, and seeks to have the government raise our kids. Raising income taxes so that the middle class family must have both parents working to contribute more to the system, and spend less time with their children.
Compared with Six, Trump, Bannon, Milo, and Paul Joseph Watson, I think I'd be described as the most conservative of the bunch, in the sense of favoring stability, caution and respect for traditional institutions and values. I consider myself to be a moderate. Trump, Bannon, and Milo stand for family values????????????? (Catholoc) Bannon has been married and divorced three times. Milo is flamboyantly promiscuous, and Trump is a pussy grabber, not to mention all three being mean-spirited hate mongers. Poor role models for our children! I favor strong families, too, which is why I support family planning, support for childcare, a living wage, health care, etc.--and a steeper tax on the gazillionaires who can afford multiple nannies. Here's to a more family-centered, God-centered, more moral nation!
Conservatism isn't something that would come up as a match on my social media. Step out of the box. Open your eyes. Have a look around. That's all it takes to have a complete picture before you.
I looked over your list from Wikipedia. I'd like to know what your definition of a school shooting is that qualifies as children being murdered. If you had looked at the list for school shootings between 2010 and 2018, you would have seen that rather than 146 deaths, there were 79. If you have a problem with that number, then take a look at the list and count them up for yourself. I'll look at the shootings that happened between 2000 and 2010 later. And just for the record, what gun control measures do you believe would have reduced those numbers?
There are plenty if examples that aren't a product of Fox News. It seems pretty clear that if it doesn't fit the left agenda, it stands a good chance of censorship. Teen Second Amendment Advocate Pulled from Speakers Lineup at School Gun Assembly And I know for a fact I didn't hear about CNN scripting a kids response from Fox. I never listen to Fox. Yet I heard the kid tell his story in his own words. I'll find if it if it's still doubted. He clearly said CNN was trying to script him and he refused to participate. This is why the left is so upset. Despite their message being the only one they want to be heard, they are infuriated that another view gets someone else elected.
The criteria for the list I cited was given at the begining of the list: I recounted by writing each date down to avoid the scrolling deal...I got 161 deaths from school shootings broken down below. 2010 - 8 2011 - 5 2012 - 42 2013 - 19 2014 - 17 2015 - 21 2016 - 9 2017 - 15 2018 - 25 Maybe someone else will check us both. But, we don't have to quibble about deaths, one is too many. There are many things that I think would help lessen school shootings. I really don't have time to list them all but quickly, off the top of my head. Increased gun control including better background checks, high sales tax on weapons, mandatory insurance and weapons training, increased age to purchase guns, mandatory gun registration, assault weapons ban, ending of gun loop holes, universal health care including consoling and mental health care coverage, reduction of poverty, school uniforms, increased school discipline, increased school resource officers, morals ethics and manners classes, public relations such as the anti smoking campaign, more money for law enforcement, revision of bullying etc. laws, and so on. There isn't one solution. Lots of things we could be doing.
Maybe we do if people are going to use the number to justify a ban on my gun. From your list, I disregarded incidents that were the result of gang related shootings, revenge shootings involving adults, late night shootings in college parking lots after an argument, shootings that involved drug deals gone wrong on college campuses, shootings that occurred well off school grounds, shootings that occurred as a result of a disgruntled teacher shooting the principal, shootings that occurred because of a dice game in a park on campus etc. etc. If you wish, I can bring the details of each of such shootings to be looked at and evaluated. Many of them do not fit the description of the kind of shooting that can be used to make the point that children are being murdered at school in record numbers.
You asked for a list of school shootings multiple times here's one example. I supplied a pretty comprehensive list. You then massaged the data to make it seem to more likely conform to your premise; that children are not being murdered at school in record numbers. You changed your original question from how many school shootings were there, to a statement about children being murdered in school. Two related but different things. I'm not going to get into a debate about the listed school shootings. Everyone can read the data for themselves and reach their own conclusions. You asked for data, I supplied it.
I'm aware conservatives have discovered the internet as well. But what makes it appear to be a counterculture to you?
First while students are guaranteed freedom of speech under the second amendment, schools are also granted the right to censor. A school assembly is not an open public event and school assemblies are not held for "for indiscriminate use by the general public." To show how this works imagine a student wished to give a speech about how to execute a school shooting during the assembly which was organized for... "Our activity is focused on the topic of Student Voice and Positive Social Change." The administration would be able to censor that speech as inappropriate. Likewise the administration felt that a pro gun rights speech during an assembly being held to honor shooting victims was inappropriate. They offered an alternative time for that speech and even offered to organize a pro gun event as an alternative. They never denied the student's right to free speech, they censored the timing of the speech. She's perfectly free to give her speech at another assembly at another time, which the school will provide.
But what is been expressing by right winger here is not conservatism but far right radicalism Now is far right radicalism the new counterculture, well does it matter – the question I’d ask is it a force for good or ill And from everything that’s been expressed I have to say ill – in fact ILL It’s regressive and mean – fundamentally based in the crackpot ideas of Social Darwinism and neo-liberalism It seems more about promoting and serving the interests of wealth to the detriment of everyone else. You only have to look at the people that support it – none of whom seem to have a rational or reasonable argument amongst them. I mean hell you can’t just shout SOROS and think that’s some brilliant answer or try cheap propaganda smearing of a few to discredit a whole, then run away when challenged But I have to laugh the obvious panic on the right is hilarious
It's simple. When grumbling about President Trump and the Right Wing is perceived as mainstream culture, supporters become the counterculture. Being at odds with what the average American is thinking and saying is counterculture.
The fact that the NFL, the Oscars, and Hollywood in general is losing their ratings largely in part to ramming left wing politics down our throats, is more evidence that leftism is losing the culture wars
I find that a bit silly i mean is racism counterculture? Fascism? Wife beating? Child molesting? There are lots of things at odds with what Americans think. And also there isn't one right and one left there are many, the right wing thinking most Americans are at odds with is the far right that many here seem to be pushing.
