I'm done arguing with you you're the one that doesn't get ir

    This should be funny

    all of the above

Didn't I just explain this last post? I'll try to be more clear. It is not out of context you just want it to apply to only one situation, but it is not a statement that can. You made a general statement about America, but you want the statement to only fit to one situation, which isn't possible for a general statement. Therefore you think that I am taking it out of context.
Your insult was thrown out like you were trying to analyze me and guess my background. It ain't my fault that you write in a way that has people confused about what your intentions are. You should take a technical writing course, or some shit so you can learn to talk in a way that is understandable, so the people don't have to read your fuckin' mind.

From the name it seems like it would fit you better.

Clinton and Bush Sr. have been speaking publicly about how our aid will help our reputation in the Muslim world, and the war on terror in general. But how does it help when we are exposing that we may have an alterior motive? That alone is enough to dismiss any good reputation we may have gained.

You are right, why can't we all just give the aid out of the kindness of our heart, and not because of recognition or glory?

That's pretty funny because I am an English major and at the top of my class.

Not that I think I have to impress you, I just think it is funny you are telling an English/Creative Writing double major that she needs to take a writing course.

I'm not sure where you got the impression that I only want to fit my statement to one situation. I thnk it works for any.

Some people seem to have a problem when other's complain about American policy. They want to compare the rest of the world's actions to those of America. I was simply trying to point out that we shouldn't have to wait for the rest of the world to be perfect before American's push for the change they want in their own country. That means any aid we want to give, any laws we want to change, any representatives we want to see in or out of office, etc...

It is not a hard concept to understand. You have just latched onto one little sentance I said and started this stupid little argument over it, it's childish.

I am not going to continue on bickering pointlessly. I don't come here to attack people's character. I like to state my opinions and read those of other's. Continuing this conversation with you is a waste of my time, not to mention completly off topic.

Oh i wondered why Mr Blair was getting grief as well... we parrot all the crap americans throw at their president.

I watched a programe last night and somebody answered the question of our absentee prime minister with ... WHO THE FUCK CARES (not in those words i admit , but that was the gist) He would be damned if he came back and he would be damned if he stayed... Everything that could have been done was done with or with out the 'man in charge' being on home soil.

    Think about something more important

Again find something more important to think about... what about the lazy bastards in the effected regions that could not be bothered to pay for their own advance warning equipment .. or take the data provided by others on a continual basis.. yeah its alright taking the piss out off 'our' people but just think it takes two too tango ??.

I was just turning the horrid arguement about our leaders being on holiday and supposedly not responding very well... just to say that you could say the responsibility to have a warning device in the indian ocean is not ours but theirs.. Their is the comunication awareness to report flash floods so the information could have been dispersed...see the more i write the more horrid i am being..

If you noticed my earlier post, i said what i actualy feel.

So let me get all this in some kind of context. A tragic number of people have been killed and their homes destroyed by a natural disaster and WE and OUR leaders have done enough already and it's their own fault for not investing in detection equipment rather than trying to feed their people. If that's the case, does that mean when sometime in the unpredictable future there is an erruption of the volcanoes on the Canary Islands, which scientists say would send half the island into the sea and a 1000 ft wave hurtling across the ocean at 300mph toward the eastern coast of the US, then the rest of the world should do nothing to help? Hmm...I think we're wasting time here. If we don't act to help each other, sooner or later there won't be anyone of us left. I don't really think that in the long term this is just a humanitarian issue, but simple common sense along the lines of species survival. Then again what do I know!

If the best early detection system was in place.. the most direct and early plan was put into operation. And know one died. their would STILL be some people saying 'oh they come over here and take all our jobs' or some other crap like that ??.

The worst (and thankfuly the best) in people is brought out.. i have seen both... thankfuly i think the best is winning.

Matthew is not wrong in saying that people will always be ungrateful no matter what their circumstances(OK there are exceptions). Indeed, the aid that has been pouring from all over the world into these unfortunate lands is admirable. The question that troubles me is: 'is it enough?' and as the media highlight fades away from this crisis and they focus on something else would these people become dependent on the charity of the kindest of Samaritans? Some people might, for whatever reason, believe that if the roles were reversed, would they do the same for us? This brings me to the conclusion that helping these unfortunate people is not about being a charitable religious person, or a wealth sharing socialist etc. This is about helping a part of the world that we all live upon. World leaders, I am sure work long unrewarding hours and they, like all of us, need their time of rest, however, it is in these situations that we need our elected representatives to show strength and conviction. How will history reflect on the present, and I'm sad to say this, degenerates running this planet when they couldn't even be arsed to take some hours off their vacation and show themselves in a better light? I'm not trying to convince anyone here. We live in a hmm,,,democracy and we can pretty much believe whatever the hell we want, but this is the way I see it. George Bush and Tony Blair are a lazy pair of self-serving tossers.

What is the point of Vice presidents and Deputys ?

I think to oversee things when presidents or prime ministers are away ?
Just because they did not immediatly make some half arsed response to situations they were dealing with and did not fully apreciate the scale and magnitude of .. does not make me think any less or more of them.

Saying 'we feel their pain' is not realy what i personaly wanted to hear.. If they had said 'oh we shall throw lots of money at the situation' and promised millions of dollars/pounds to something then they would be demonised for being arrogant or 'oh is that it' would have been the response from some (i am sure)..Its the over expectation and the need from people that are only too quick to have something/anything to throw back into their faces .. that annoys me.

The point imho is (aside from this) you think they are both lazy self serving tossers..i am sure based not just on this event.. I am not here to convince you otherwise and you can believe whatever the hell you want...i agree.

I think Mr Blair was on a somewhat working holiday
