BTW, little known fact, the LSD analogue ALD-52 was unscheduled and legal in japan until about 2005. I saw it in a head shop once but didn't purchase it as I didnt know what it was. The guy in the head shop said it was just like acid. Was scheduled around 2005.

Psilocybin mushrooms were also legal there and sold in head shops and on the street until 2002 or 2003.

I wish I had known that the ALD-52 really was just like LSD. I was skeptical and didnt want to take a random chemical compound that I knew nothing about so I didnt buy it. That would have been a good opportunity for anyone interested to stock up a huge stockpile.

Ald-52 is metabolized by your body into LSD, so you really did miss out.

Yeah... there was a poster on the wall of the headshop advertising a gathering of people who were going to climb a mountain and do ALD-52 together at the top.

From about 2000-2005 Japan was an excellent place to get "designer drugs". They were always legal, but prior to about 2000 nobody did them very much. For whatever reason there was a great increase of interest starting around 2000. At first, magic mushrooms were the thing. At Kyoto university, a student organization was formed around tripping. When mushrooms were banned around 2002, other stuff showed up... all manner of combinations of letters and numbers. 2-c-t-7, 2-ce, 5-meo-dipt, methylone, actually even DMT and 5-meo-DMT. Anyway within a few years they were all scheduled.
