I dont think I would. Not even with the person’s direct consent.
If one of my patients asked me to do it, I'd say no. I think it compromises the professional role of doctors.

 

You are bad at guessing, so it makes no sense to go gamble. I know, that did not make sense, but when I typed it it sounded like it made sense.

1 year past 30. And in fact in real life people also always think I am in my mid 20s, so I guess I am just blessed with a young appearance.

 

What truths ?

 

The one about being terminally ill. I'd do it if the person wanted it. I see no reason to prolong a life that is already wracked with pain and will soon end anyway.

 

I thought that might be what you meant. I don't think I was that bad at guessing, since you're only 31.

But yeah, I don't think I will ever gamble unless it's the lottery.

 

I will take another dare.

 

Its in medical ethics : Human life is the main and the biggest value.
If one of my patients was terminally ill, I'd give him medications which would ease his/her pain. Suicide is against the primar goal of medicine and doctors.
If I assisted in someones suicide ( even if the person is gonna die soon ), I'd consider myself to be a failure as a doctor.

 

I know these would not be your motives Piaf, but I think the doctors just want to keep people suffering in hospitals to make more money.
That dying person is not really living. They're a shell of the person they once were. They'll give up the ghost in a few months, but the physical body is pretty much dead.
I wouldn't wish that kind of life on anyone. If it were me, I'd kill myself before it ever got to that point.

I understand that it's "medical ethics" but I think doctors need to change their ethics to "quality of life". Because dying is not life and there's no way doctors can change that. They can only prolong the suffering period until death finally comes.

Those are just my opinions though.

I am all pro life.
But you are right in one thing - quality of life should also be one of top priorities.
