I had an appointment with one of my wonderful midwives yesterday. There had been some concern at the previous visit that he might be breech, but the midwive didn't want to commit yet. So they said at my next visit they would do an internal exam and if they still couldn't tell I'd have to have a sonogram. Well I didn't worry one bit because I KNEW he was engaged already and has been for weeks! I could tell because I feel his hiccups way down under my pubic bone. When we listen to his heartbeat with our stethescope we hear it way low on my belly. I think mammas and babies have connections way before the baby is born and we should trust our instincts! Anyway, she did the internal exam and said his head is as low as it can get and that I'm 50-60% effaced, with a tightly closed cervix. I asked how big the baby was and she guestimated him to be around 6 pounds now and said he may be around 8 pounds at birth. Who says vegans can't have a chunky baby? We have all our birth supplies ready for our planned home birth. Four more weeks! Everything is going so well I'm so HAPPY!
