I was listening to his speech this morning, and this line was a highlight: "“I could build the wall over a longer period of time, I didn’t need to do this. But I’d rather do it much faster.” Wait, so, did you just admit that this is not, in fact, an emergency? During your speech declaring a national emergency? And his remarks about how great it is that China sentences drug deals to death were troubling.
Did anyone notice how he started speaking in that singsong cadence when he was giving his emergency declaration speech? Like he's reciting Mother Goose rhymes lol. "And then we're gonna build a WALL and then they'll SUE us and then we'll get a bad RULING and maybe we'll get a fair SHAKE" Everything about this man being president is baffling to me
I wonder why the cost of the wall went from $5.1 billion (his original request) to nearly $8 billion (the amount he scraped together from various funds). It's disturbing that that much taxpayer money is lying around Washington doing nothing except waiting to be squandered. Particularly distasteful is the butt-awful drug forfeiture fund--it shouldn't even exist.
Well, you're not an American. I am. And no, it wasn't. Maybe a blurb here or there about a border fence or something. I'm talking about real discussion. A proposition to the American people for why a wall is needed. That has never happened.
Nice knowledge, Mr. American Oct. 28, 2015 “As far as the wall is concerned, we’re going to build a wall. We’re going to create a border. We’re going to let people in, but they’re going to come in legally. They’re going to come in legally. And it’s something that can be done, and I get questioned about that. They built the Great Wall of China. That’s 13,000 miles. Here, we actually need 1,000 because we have natural barriers. So we need 1,000.” — Republican presidential debate
Well that example is the perfect example of what I just tried to explain what I was talking about, so thank you. A blurb in a presidential debate is totally what it means to broach the subject before the American people and explain to us why we need a wall and should spend 7 billion on it. SO THANK YOU. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR CLEARING THAT UP. THANKS AGAIN.
No surprise people who think college is evil do not get this. Meanwhile the educated are laughing. Here's Why A Border Wall Won't Work: An Engineer's Perspective
Didn't walls stop working as soon as gunpowder was invented? Should we build national moats? Let's try something more modern, like ill tempered sea bass with freaking lasers on their heads.
