Me too. But for slightly different reasons than you. For example it's not solely because of your countries government. Apathy and selfishness is for a large part how it will go down further. I would think its not 100% inevitable but when I hear relatively smart (you don't have to be Einstein to help the environment/society you're in ) americans proclaim their apathy on here it kind of seems like it. 'It's going down but i can't do anything about it so... And if i could i wouldn't because why would I?'

people would rather be on tv that admit they know nothing about the subject. this isnt because they are stupid, there is nothing wrong with not knowing something. but the need to be on tv by far overrides that desire to not look stupid by talking about subjects that they dont know about.

impossible to say what will happen 50 years from now...just think of what people 50 years ago thought today might be like....most would be extremely wrong and all would be mostly wrong. but the people in power? sure their resources might run out but i can bet you dollars to donuts that they have a contingency plan in place for when that happens in order to stay in the top 1% of the 1%.
