And still the lies keep coming !!! Trump Boasts He Likely Saved 'Billions' Of Lives In A Nation With 330 Million People HuffPost staff writer Apr 19th 2020 3:35AM President Donald Trump busted his boastful exaggeration record Saturday when he claimed he likely saved "billions" of lives with his measures against COVID-19. The entire population of the U.S. is just 330 million. Trump claimed Monday he saved "tens of thousands" or possibly "hundreds of thousands" of lives because in late January he restricted foreign nationals from entering the country if they had been in China the previous two weeks. The restrictions did not apply to Americans, however, allowing a conduit for the disease to enter the U.S. Trump made his outlandish billions claim at his press briefing Saturday. Based on some models, the COVID-19 death toll in the U.S. was predicted to reach 100,000 to 220,000, he noted. "I really believe it could have been billions of people [who died] had we not done what we did," he added. "We made a lot of good decisions," he claimed. "It could have been billions of people if we had not done what we did" -- Trump absurdly claims that his move to restrict travel from China saved a billion or more lives pic.twitter.com/GbkI4ozs8F — Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) April 18, 2020 There are 8 billion people in the entire world, so it's possible Trump was taking credit for saving an extraordinary number of lives around the world for some unknown reason. The U.S. has nearly a third of the 2.3 million COVID-19 cases around the globe — the highest in the world — but only 4.2% of the Earth's population. The U.S. also has the highest number of deaths — 36,000 — of any country. So whatever measures the nation is taking don't appear to be particularly successful. Trump, however, declared Saturday that the U.S. has "produced dramatically better health outcomes than any other country with the possible exception of Germany." It's uncertain what an accurate COVID-19 death toll prediction will prove to be, or how many will ultimately die. But several experts have said that Trump's months of inaction with a lack of testing, disease contact isolation and early social distancing measures likely cost countless lives in America.
Please note that Ohio and Indiana have Republican governors who did place their states under lock-down orders. In India all the government offices, banks, restaurants, and book stores are closed. Even the DMV office is closed. But … But … Trump hasn't sent his faithful worshippers to protest these Republican governors. He only staged his fake protests in states which have Democrat governors. I say Trump is acting desperate. His approval rate this week is … weak.
Because Republicans vote on emotion. As much as they say it's the other guys they are the party who works extra hard every election to market things that don't matter for a official just for a room mate. You want to have a beer with them and they said what church they go to. So in the case of someone like Trump you excuse all the corruption because they "seem so Christian". So in cases like this they are willing to put more trust in the government. Kind of like if your mom was president. You would accept whatever she said because you know her and you know she will not abuse power. Democrats well they are the godless ones who don't have the maturity to use power properly so it's automatically tyranny. Republicans ASK people to stay home and you are free to do what you wish. Democrats force you to with lies and violence. Or at least Fox says so.
No that's not how any of this works. Try your free market views which naturally seek cheap labor with little to no restrictions. So the job creator can make a little more in stock a job is outsourced.
Flagme15 ^^^^ - Yep. Trump is always correct. In ALL things - in ALL cases - at ALL times. "Alternate facts" prove that beyond a shadow of a doubt.
So, anyone want to explain this, other than it just being seasonal / temperature dependant, or about population density / age demographics As of 19th April: Total Covid deaths New York 18,298 California 1148 Florida 764 The Whole of Mexico 650 We still all sticking to the narrative that social isolation does shit, or early testing and partisan politics made all the difference California had far more initial cases ( multiple starting points ) than New York did How much longer are we supposed to wait for Covid to sweep through Mexico's barely existent ageing population?
I’ve seen a growing concern among medical professionals that Trump is displaying classic symptoms of Alzheimer’s so this kind of behavior is not unexpected. If this is true I am concerned that he is allowed to remain in office and that those around him are not raising the alarm. Worse, Republicans are enabling increasingly irrational behavior. This does not bode well for our nation. Also it makes increasingly futile the natural tendency for many of us to discuss the latest travesty ad nauseum.
You have answered your own question in the quote. I'm glad we have Dr. Gorilla to teach us. You are serious? So arrogant to say you know more then doctors? Says a lot about your motives.
Nobody takes him seriously. Last February he was giving the Trumpian line--everything under control, nothin' to see here, can't happen in the USA. He's a joke. He's just trying to imitate his Daddy figure, who also thinks he knows more than the doctors--and the generals. So did Adolf
.....also.... If lockdowns are only having a minor effect on curbing Coronavirus deaths then that doesn't give much weight to blaming the Donald does it Five words at the moment : Explain Sweden and Mexico then? Then the middle of next winter if the 2nd wave is worse, 10 words; Explain why we shut down everything 10 months ago then?
Did Trump Tweet in 2009 That He Would 'Never Let Thousands of Americans Die From a Pandemic'? Trump would have been a Democrat in 2009 anyway
Snopes doesn’t always have all the answers, and can be a biased information source. Do you believe that Trump really belonged to any political affiliation? He couldn’t stand Obama, how could he have been a Democrat? He supported the Clintons (ironically), and that’s about as far as his loyalty to the Democratic Party goes.
