The important thing isn't the 50 to 100 million people that are about to go destitute, if they haven't already The important thing is Americans banded together to save maybe 30,000 old people that were going to die soon anyway and who for the most part live in $2 million inner city apartments
That is the important thing. We will sacrifice our lives for others well-being, even if they are elderly. Wouldn't want it any other way. Sorry. I'm proud of what the vast majority of Americans are doing, and disappointed in all the spring breakers who seem to think as you do.
The thing about the rent freeze and mortgage moratorium is, landlords will likely start the eviction process and banks the foreclosure process as soon as the moratorium is lifted, and people are going to find themselves months behind and unable to catch up
I feel for the renters. Even though the landlords are losing income, it is unlikely they will be the ones to end up homeless.
Well............. This guy was behind the whole thing.... He gets a sick thrill out of signing foreclosures. Now he get's to foreclose on the entire country.
My goodness. That's a little morose, but probably very accurate. But I think it was a necessary evil; to shut it down. They say that young people usually have mild symptoms, but that's what? like 70% of the time? My luck I'd be wheezing for air had they not implemented shelter-in-place.
VG's Five step plan for the coronavirus situation.... Step 1: Round up all the old people and toss them into the furnace. The military, with the average age of 25, will have no problem tossing grandma into the flames. They won't fight much, they are after all, old and going to die soon anyways. Step 2: Infiltrate the hospitals, find anyone that's hooked up to a ventilator, rip the breathing tube out and toss them into the furnace. They won't fight much, they are likely already unconscious anyways. Step 3: Get everybody else out into the streets, if anyone coughs or sneezes for any reason, shoot them in the head and toss them into the furnace. They won't fight much because they are already dead. Step 4: Divvy up all the old people's retirement savings, and get everybody that remains back to work. Step 5: Bitch about how bad the air smells....

Everybody is "subjected" to it. It hasn't changed since people first started conquering and enslaving other people. What sucks for the original explorers of the Americas, the Polynesian and Siberian ancestors (I hear Vikings were around for a blip in time as well) is that they had it all to themselves for so long, the world grew up around them. So they were utterly unprepared for dealing with it. The ancient Greeks had Thales to finally convince them that lightning and thunder were not sent my angry Gods. In the Americas, this never happened. That is, until the Spanish arrived. They were technologically outclassed by over 7,000 years (copper age), it's amazing any of them exist to this day, except that the Spanish and those who followed were not on a genocidal quest at all. For them the world had just doubled in size, so they were there for every possible reason you can think of. All of them looking toward the future. And few of them willing to tolerate things like human sacrifices and cannibalism. So alliances were made and progress marched on. By which principle do you find me lacking in punishment? I am subject to all of the shit anyone else in the US suffers. If I can't defend my turf, some asshole will take it. Probably an asshole with a law degree. But I paid 2 assholes with law degrees to keep that from happening. After all, there's little chance of someone stealing my house with a gun.
Most of them are property-poor. The bank still owns 7/8ths of all of their properties, including their residence. So the only way to make their mortgage payments is with tenant rent payments. If those go away, the bank doesn't get paid and moves to retake the property and sell it or have a management company rent it for them. One tiny bit of salvation is being able to fill your properties with section 8 residents. If the government can't pay the rent, the banks can't foreclose while section 8 tenants are living there. So the people in the very worst position are the independent landlords and the middle class renters. Oddly, they both face homelessness since they don't qualify for section 8. And by the time they do, the crisis will be over. THAT is how the US government works overall. It's a game of buying time. But this isn't a hurricane and it's not just wiping out the south. Now everybody has to pay attention to it!
On January 01, 2020 I went to the hospital with very high blood pressure. The ER doctor checked me out for sinus infection, and wanted a chest X-ray. I asked him why he was checking me for this when I was there for the other. He told me that the CDC had issued warnings and instructions concerning a new virus from China. On that date, he told that no positive tests had turned up in Indiana. So, that tells me the federal agencies were aware of Coronavirus early. That also says that Trump wanted lower interest rates from the fed and an energized economy first, and any health issues to be pushed back for the economy's sake. And that says he was just thinking of himself, his reelection, and his image.
That's why we need strong socialism with anti eviction laws and high taxes for the banks and wealthy investors. Their right to be rich does not out weigh the rest of OUR rights.
. No, because they're suckers for Orange carnival barkers whose limitations should be obvious to anyone with a brain. As for wasting their lives trawling, better than wasting their lives trolling on behalf of a bad orange man.
