Florida (shaped that way for a reason) has always been the Amity Island of the US. Most of the governors and mayors focus on revenue above all else. And their main revenue is tourists, so they regularly drop the ball on hazards.

There was a time when tourists were being carjacked and killed because the rental cars all had tags that made it obvious they were tourists. Especially around Miami. The solution, change the rental designation to Manatee county instead. It was a tiny, obscure county.

The carjackings slowed down immediately. They they picked back up again a few weeks later. Partly because radio DJs started making fun of all the cars from Manatee county which at the time had like a few thousand residents. It didn't take long for the crooks to figure out what was up.

Instead of dealing with the problem head-on, they punted. Because using the cops to hunt these bastards down, was expensive.

Trump called the virus a "HOAX" Feb 28.
The first time Trump admitted the coronavirus might be a problem was Mar 13.
April 1 Trump says another 200,000+ of our loved ones will die in horror.
"Heads up! Two hundred thousand deaths incoming!!!"
Trump is a murderer, and this murder cult needs to be taken the fuck down.

 

The Evangelical response to this reminds me of the people who say god will protect them from venomous snakes. When they are not bit it proves god and when they are it does not change anything god still ALWAYS will protect them. One of the biggest culprits for spread in America is these mega churches where they have decided that it proves their Christian American freedom to assemble. A few pastors have been arrested but of course that only proved the Democratic system hates god.

Seriously, that's how diseases were named for a very long time. You're dealing with a guy in his 70s. Most of his life (and mine I admit) this is how these kinds of things were identified. Sure, it's archaic, but it's not "racist" (a disgustingly overused term for anything from bandages to hoop earrings). Remember when the names of hurricanes were "sexist"?

Do we really have time for such pettiness during this? It's driving people to propagate conflicting and even bogus information, just to poke at Trump.

 

It's not petty to call a mistake out. Trump and the not rich today but sure they will be tomorrow Republican voter are the only ones who have decided it's for people to die because America. That's like what they expect in China and North Kora. You are not dying for the state in war to protect "freedom" or whatever else where. Depending on the war there may be a reason. You are just dying for money. Even in the peak of the Cold War I think this would have been labeled crazy. In 1960 people would stay at home, help each other and decide that was America. In 2020 you help by dying for the CEO's portfolio.

Republicans seem to hate the elite. Well don't serve the elite here. Don't cover up the mistakes of orange man. Dying is going to hurt the economy too.
