I think it's weird to defund the healthcare. Not to mention social security. There ought to be a good reason for doing a thing like that. I can't figure out why.

Yeah... We most certainly should steal all the funding from Social Security because those stinky old people are going to die in two years anyways.... Fuck those old people.

    VG the jig is up.

I think at this point everyone has come to the conclusion that your just a troll and statements like that will simply be ignored.

Trump does that all the time as well. Most recently when he asked the governor of South Dakota to add his face (spray-on tan and all) to Mount Rushmore.
He knows someone will leak it to the press keeping him in the spotlight.

10% extra deaths becuase of the economic impact of the lockdowns, I can easily see that happening, which would make the whole logic behind the lockdowns totally ridiculous - kill as many people to save as many people from covid

Even if it's half that, it's still totally ridiculous when combined with the 50 extra million people that will slip under the poverty line for maybe a decade

It's not a possibility of de-funding .......... it's a surety. The REPUBLICAN PARTY has been trying to get rid of Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid for DECADES. The business community doesn't want to have to pay anything toward workers' retirements. Federal law mandates that employers pay toward workers' retirements NOW, and has for decades. If their is no more Social Security, Medicare, or Medicaid tax that they have to pay in by law, they won't HAVE to contribute anything toward workers' retirements. This is the ultimate dream of employers everywhere. The Chamber of Commerce has been pushing for this for decades .............. and I'm old enough to have seen their efforts over the years. They want to take the amount they NOW pay into SS, Medicare, and Medicaid for you ......... and put it right back into their GREEDY pockets. Multi-millionaires and multi-billionaires don't have enough money ........................ but they think you already have too much.

If you buy the REPUBLICANS' BS story ............... you'll deserve the screwing you're going to get. For any avg. U.S. citizen .................... explain to me how having Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid taken away from you is BETTER for you??? How do you propose to pay for all the things those 3 programs do ALL BY YOURSELF?????

And if you think you'll have a good retirement saving ALL BY YOURSELF - with NO contribution from employers - you better be making over $100,000 per year right now and save at least 15% of every paycheck in a qualified retirement plan. By most economists & financial planners' analysis, the amount of money they say people need to have to secure a stable retirement today is $1.5 million dollars. At your income level - do you think you'll have that much to pay for health insurance, medical bills & out-of-pocket expenses related to doctors & hospitals, taxes, housing, old-folks home eventually, food, and all the other regular bills like utilities, auto expenses, life and auto insurance, prescription medicines, etc. ???

See post #2928 for the reason behind why THE REPUBLICAN PARTY has been dreaming of de-funding SS, Medicare & Medicaid. I'm old enough to have seen their efforts over the decades.

I know of several I'd love to see leave this world. Rump - muck-mouth Moscow Mitch McConnell - Carl Icahn - the other remaining KOCH brother, Sheldon Adelson (Epstein already killed himself & is surely burning in hell) - Putin - Hush Bimbo - Alex Jones and all other lying haters like him .................

Thanks, you are kind of proving my point

People soulcompromises age, can't cut their entitlements, they'll have even less than your generation when they retire

So where is a the money going to come from to pay for the $US 10 trillion hole you'll have by the end of the year?

Ones like soulcompromises might have agreed with you when it comes to Covid measures, but they won't agree when it comes to who gets to pay for it

Still think it won't be young vs old in the years to come?

You wanted the Covid lockdowns, well then you get to pay for it

I'm still at a loss as to how the President was able to sign executive orders to extend the unemployment benefit and put 25% of the financial responsibility on the states, knowing that some states may soon borrow money from the Federal government to replenish their depleted unemployment funds.

The U.S has survived with rules and laws for 240 years - prior to Rump. He thinks he's still running his businesses and can just bark orders and the rest of the country - and world - will bend over and obey. This country and what it stands for are much, MUCH bigger than any one man or woman - and especially Rump. Most of his executive orders are without precedent and likely illegal.

For people that PAY ATTENTION to politics ....................... and they are few in terms of percentage - or have a long memory ............... if it was Democrat in the White House doing all the idiotic, illegal, and un-Constitutional things Rump has said & done - the Repubs. would be sticking to the ceiling. They'd be screaming bloody murder and foaming at the mouth - much like their infantile behavior and claims when Obama was President - and Obama can't hold a candle to all the executive overreach that Rump has done.

Sadly - most people have VERY short memories and lack the attention span to stay dialed in to politics. And the REPUBLICAN PARTY uses those facts against the majority of the U.S. population - including many in their own party. Whoever shouts the loudest, acts the angriest, and makes the most outlandish claims & lies gets the vote of the truly un-educated voter.

Too many people lack meaning in their lives. The GOP being cult-like provides many with meaning. It provides them something to which they can be loyal. How else could so many people still believe that the covid-19 pandemic is a hoax and that being told to wear a facemask is just Democrats wanting to control people? These people are not only willing to die for their political party; they're also willing to sacrifice their children!

“We’re looking for that responsible path forward to shelter those at highest risk, while allowing those at lower risk to resume work and school and play football. Go play football,” the President said.
