I doubt he's a troll though. He sounds pretty typical of Americans who love to argue politics without giving their political views any actual in-depth thought. Maybe he sounds like a troll because you live in a country where people are reasonable about politics. But this is how some people actually are here lol.

And I'm frankly tired of it which is why I end up arguing with people like this. Because the problem is these people can actually vote, which is why we have an idiot in the White House now

We have very unreasonable people here too lol. Some are rightwing and we have some people that really can be described as 'libtards' too.
But a troll is an internet thing and there are some typical aspects in their posting style that makes it clear one is trolling or not. He's trolling, that there are many americans arguin politics in a similar way doesn't change that (maybe he too is really a believer in his ill defended views. But i would only give them the respect of a serious convo if i see the same intent in their posts. If evasion, chronic lack of nuance and attempts to insult or denigrate are in nearly every post its usually clear). I guess it just makes it harder for americans like you to spot an obvious troll.

I sometimes like trolling the troll too. After all, it's one of the few times its actually a righteous practice :D

Sad to say his replies are typical of Trump voters. Few are able to have any discussion and attempting to do that will be mocked. They have simpler answers for complex topics and hate being challenged with logic.

I think this is being a bit short sighted though, most people don't feel the effects of a new president within the first few months
I can think of some people who arent most people though -

There are people who were trapped in limbo because they were visiting their home countries when Trump's travel ban went into effect even though they were legal residents. Ask them
Or maybe you could ask someone who was hunted down by ICE and sent to a deportation center and is being detained and forced to work for corporate profit in a for profit detainment center?
You could ask the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, they would know since Trump approved the pipeline which has already had leaks, exactly what the tribe said would happen
    You could ask Palestine
You could ask a certain Jane Doe
The Carrier employees who lost their jobs after Trump promised them they wouldn't, that might be a good start.
Or maybe wives (and husbands I assume) and children who have been asked to leave South Korean army bases because two demagogues cant stop comparing their dick sizes

As for the rest of us, we'll feel it soon. For one, our economy is a bubble about to pop - this atmosphere of deregulation and high optimism is similiar to conditions in 1929 before the Great Depression.

    Because I have empathy.

How was the issue of legal residents not being allowed back in the country an issue before trump? It was a direct result of Trump.
How were for profit detainment centers a problem before Trump? The Obama administration worked to end the practice of for profit prisons.
The Dakota access pipeline was an issue before but Obama also halted its construction before he left office and Trump reversed that decision
Israel and Palestine has always been an issue but Trump just made it 10 x worse
North Korea has always been an issue but obviously Kim Jung-on recognizes a bit of himself in Trump, thats why he taunts him the way he hasnt with other presidents.

I dont care about just myself, thats a myopic and selfish way of looking at the world. I care when his policies affect other people.

My brother's and his wife's health insurance has gone up about 30% for 2018 due to Trump cutting the subsidies. His daughter's also went up but I don't know how much.

I'm on Medicare and get my supplement through my union so I'm okay.
My wife can stay on my union coverage till next year, then she has to enter the market till Medicare kicks in for her...if Trump hasn't screwed that up by then.

He's stirred up the local bum f-cks to the point that every newspaper I've gotten for the last month has been bitching about the guy that burned a Nazi and Confederate flag as a protest against bigotry.
The idiots think that Americans died for the Confederate flag so they want to draw and quarter the guy.

As if there's such a thing as an American Confederate flag. (Unless he's referencing the continent instead of the country).

We seem to have drifted way off-topic here. But anyway, if you're looking for the effects of Trump's presidency Ori I'd point to his reversal of Obama's climate change policy, which is going to affect everyone on the entire planet including you.

I'm an independent also and would love for an outsider to shake up the establishment but it doesn't have to be Trump, he's an idiot. In a way he's worse than the establishment. Wasting money on an unnecessary wall that will never be built, trading personal barbs with Kim Jong Un, recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital (guaranteed to cause even more strife in an unstable part of the world), his stupid fucking tweets...he's an embarrassment. In the end he won't do a single damn thing to abolish 'the establishment', he'll eventually scare so many people that they'll be begging for business as usual.

Again none of these effect you personally.. Other than personal emotions. I wish I had a nickel for every gram of emotions I lost, dragged into battle for oil during the Bush dynasties. It is what it is.
It amazing how a pipeline over some barren land make you wince. blah blah muh bones. I could show you a list of poisonous chemicals being shipped across your back yard via railroad. No big deal. Hasnt been a train accident involving them. Stuff to wipe out a town with toxic fumes. Oil cant kill anyone .. It spills, some wildlife thats probably not endangered whatsoever gets tacky. Humans clean it up.. Oil is in the Earth .. We use it. Those natives driving 4x4s are not solar powered. Leaving a bigger chemical waste site during their attention seeking protest.
should I protest because my great grandparents owned most this area of my neighborhood and was taken by over barring white Englishman to build roads. Maybe these roads are mine now. I should collect tolls from everyone that uses them. Using the burial ground bullshit, is just bullshit. IF they got money, they would stfu ..
Have you ever tried or needed public assistance as an American taxpayer. And how did that work out for you?
Ive a medical record the size of a phone book. Can I get some assistance. Oh hell no. Lets give some middle of the litter box mussy an apartment, food benefits, medical assistance.
How long do you think their assistance last before they have to fend for themselves and when they can not find work. Do you think these will be some happy people?> more gimmi dats when there is noting to give.. fuqit,, jihad.

How interesting when i lost my tricare va healthcare. obozo care gave me no care. dont my sickly ass matter. I know that didnt seem like an issue 5yrs ago. sorry you missed out on what i lived thru..

I admire people who are passionate about values that go beyond their narrow self-interest. If everyone were only concerned with what directly affects them materially, nobody would take an interest in good governance, the environment, or social justice. Eventually the society and the world that we live in will be poorer for it, and as a resident of both, I expect to be adversely affected. When a party gerrymanders seats in congress to assure minority rule, when a party uses the reconciliation process in the senate to ram through a "tax reform" measure that will benefit large corporations and gazillionaires while adding $1.5 trillion to the deficit, thereby threatening Social Security and Medicare, when a President attacks the free press and tweets out divisive measures almost daily, and adopts measures to degrade the environment, and puts imbeciles and robber barons in charge of executive offices, and decimates the State Department that we would ordinarily rely on to avoid catastrophic foreign policy blunders, I feel threatened in a very direct, personal way. When the President retweets anti-Muslim videos from an extremist British hate group, it doesn't affect me directly but it majorly affects the quality of the society I live in. And as a citizen of a free country, I think I have as much right to express my views on these subjects as some self-interested Trump supporter. In the immortal words of Dietrich Bonhoeffer: "First they came for the Communists, but I was not a Communist so I did not speak out. Then they came for the Socialists and the Trade Unionists, but I was neither, so I did not speak out. Then they came for the Jews, but I was not a Jew so I did not speak out. And when they came for me, there was no one left to speak out for me."
