When tips, overtime, and SS benefits aren't taxed the SS and medicare funds gets less income. This will eventually lead to a SS crisis, not enough money, and then that fact can be used to cut benefits.
Additionally overtime pay will not count for SS benefits which means less SS income for those that retire under this system.
Remember you only have to pay SS taxes on the first $168,600 that you earn in a year anything above that is not taxed. This means any additional earning can be invested, something those earning less than $168,600 can't do.

There will be no checks and balances on Trump. He already controls a majority of the SOCTUS judges and two more are expected to retire. He will replace them with young like minded conservatives who will allow the court to uphold the right wing agenda for the next 40 or so years.
And let's recall they have ruled that anything he does as president is legal. Anything. He can order the arrest of Liz Chaney for any reason or none at all. Remember they ruled that he can in all probability legally order Seal Team Six to shoot a political rival.
There is no legal recourse for those actions, they only possible penalty would be impeachment, and that ain't going to happen.
He controls the Senate, and probably will win the House. That ends the political checks and balances.
He will appoint more right wing judges to the court system ending that check and balance especially as all cases can end in the Supreme Court which we know is controlled by Trump.
The military brass will be replaced with like minded generals, any general that resists can be charged with insubordination or insurrection and removed, arrested, or executed at Trump's desire. Remember Trump said general Milley deserves a death sentence for a phone call he took from China to assure them the U.S. was not under attack during the Jan. 6 insurrection. “This is an act so egregious that, in times gone by, the punishment would have been DEATH!” ~ Doanld J. Trump
    He will control the military.
The DOJ refuses to indict a siting president, and it will be gutted and the attorney general will be replace by a Trump lackey anyway.
The DOJ will not interfere with Trump.
He said he will fire 50,000 politically protected government workers and either do away with their jobs or replace them with his people.
He will gut the educational system in his war on intellectuals and science. First order is to do away with the Department of Education, then the public schools will be de-funded and colleges will loose their federal funds unless they follow the right wing agenda.

    He controls the Supreme court.
Has unlimited legal power (he is above the law).
He controls the House and Senate.
He controls the Vice President (Pence is gone as he respected the Constitution).
    He will control the DJ.
    He will control the military.
He will gut the educational system,
And any action he takes will be supported by 53% of the population; the part of the population that is the best armed, most violent, with the least moral or ethical restraints, and most gullible.

    What's left?

You predict a very dark future. One thing I can dispute is control over the military. If he aggressively tries to gut the armed forces of officers he considers disloyal there will be extreme backlash. The military is in many ways a power unto itself and Trump must tread lightly in dealing with it, but of course treading lightly is not his style.

A military coup is unlikely but not impossible. If anyone can inspire a coup it would be Donald Trump.

    Never said that.
    Just remember Kent State.

And I forgot about the threats to revoke ABC, CBS's and others media licenses.

Trump will use the federal military to suppress any protest he doesn't like.
He will use The Insurrection Act. Any legal challenge will come to late to stop the deployments.
My guess is they will fully armed with orders to shoot.
Any officer that refuses to follow Trump can be charged with insubordination or treason.

Hope for the best, prepare for the worse.

One of the biggest issues Trump ran on was the economy, primarily inflation. Never mind that the inflation rate had gone way down and was still improving, or that the pandemic which Biden got under control was the main cause of the inflation, people were feeling the pinch and voted accordingly. And if Trump puts through these tariffs he's talking about then inflation will spike again. Then maybe, just maybe, his followers will realize they've been had.

That's the only hope I see. The American public wakes up...what football or basketball game's on this week?

well one must have hope or all is lost, predicting the worst with nothing but gloom and doom removes hope, while I see some dark times ahead there is always light at the end of the tunnel

The worst would be if the military follows Trump with blind loyalty. I don't see that happening, but if it did we are truly screwed. Trump could easily go too far and get severe backlash from all the armed forces.

His hardcore base will stay loyal to the end, but the "undecideds" who ended up voting for him will regret their decision, just as most Americans in 1973 regretted voting for Nixon a year earlier.

Next, his border policy. He plans to run the biggest mass deportations this country has ever seen. I predict he'll start out with a lot of deportations, then scale it back. If he really did deport all those millions of people it would be prohibitively expensive, plus when we lose all those workers it would be another thing hurting the economy.

The deportations he actually does will result in a lot of backlash. The resistance from those they try to deport will intensify and public protests will grow. And if any of those protesters is shot, look out!

He also plans to finish his wall, another multi-billion dollar boondoggle which won't do much to stem illegal immigration.

For the most part his border policy is more promises he can't keep.

Todays Wall St. Journal came out today, as against mass deportation, as a divisive issue

He also plans to finish his wall, another multi-billion dollar boondoggle which won't do much to stem illegal immigration.

The Wall is psychologicaly symbolic both to MAGA and to prospective border jumpers. It will be only somewhat effective tho.

I'm amending my birth certificate and getting a passport for the first time ever.

I feel like I won't be able to do this after January

Gonna be some rough years ahead, friends....I'm hoping for a lightning strike on the 3rd tee on one of his 350 days playing golf in his upcoming term. Imagine what security for a round of golf costs the taxpayers.

Maybe he can beat William Henry Harrison's record of living just 31 days into his term.

Not that I would complain if it happened but aren't the next 2 people in line for the presidency just as bad if not worse than him anyway?

Ever notice that Trump always has horrible VPs? I think it's insurance against anyone capping him.
