Thats the thing it was NOT gullibility it was Americans penchant for optimism (delusional debatable) the majority of Americans dont approve of the way things are going and when someone comes along and says I can do it better they believe it you see it as gullible I see it as optimistic, every single trump person I have ever talked to HATES the way things are PERIOD. so?

Reading all my posts on this thread, can you understand where things all went wrong for Donald.
I have never met him, but a couple of my friends worked with him on and off for a few weeks. They described him as a lovable goofy old fool. He would be rolling his shirt sleeves up and threatening to put their lights out one minute, then when he calmed down he would go off and fetch them a coffee. Things like that are not unusual at the film studios.

His visit to the UK was endless fun and bemused our late Queen. Particularly the security guys running along beside his stupid car.
One of the most surprising things was the security cost of his visit. The cost per day was more than than we spend on our entire government AND royal family in an entire year.
When Boris was our PM, while staying at home in the country, he would ride around on his pushbike in the early morning, stopping to chat to fellow cyclists and dog walkers. He never informed the local police when he was going out.
Ou late queen mother was even worse. She went out shopping in London in the afternoons, she was supposed to have an escort, but she never bothered. One afternoon, she got lost and was pleased to find one of our theatres which she recognised. We called for her car and while she was waiting went to the staff room and made herself a cup of tea in a cracked mug. This was just a normal day at the office.

Our late queen was a great lover of the theatre which she attended regularly. The security was simply no one knowing. The manager would receive a phone call 10 minutes before she arrived in an unmarked car. She did not expect any special treatment except being taken to her seat.
Needless to say, on a few occasions things went slightly wrong. The funniest was when she was waiting in the foyer and a brash American woman spotted her. The woman walked over and said "OMG, has anyone ever told you that you are the spiting image of the queen". Her predictable smiling reply was, "A few people have mentioned it".
The woman left the theatre with her tickets, so we never knew whether she ever realised the truth.

Their are certainly a few minor differences between us and the USA.

A majority of people anywhere don't approve of the current status, humans are in general wired to overemphasize negatives and look for problems (as it is often illustrated - making the mistake for being too careful and negative and run away from something in the night that turns out to be a mouse instead of a lion is an evolutionary better adaptation than being under-reactive and get eaten by a lion, we are always subjective on the negative side).

That is not the surprising part. The surprising part is that a billionaire supported by an even bigger billionaire with a record of pampering to billionaires and personal interests managed to convince the general population that he is an anti-establishment player working for the common man. Sanders might be a "new way", not Trump.

So I would assume it ultimately boils down to something much simpler, to Trump being better at relating to people, propaganda and probably most of all at using modern media/internet. Memification over explanation, in a way.

But then I am not in the US and probably have my own information bubble filtering info that trickles down and forms impressions.

In its pure form it does taste sweet, but for tea you are supposed to add some water.

For soft drinks containing an acidic fruit, its concentration needs to be around 15%. For cane sugar, it would be less than 2%.

The problem as many diabetics know, is it’s not just plain corn syrup, it’s high fructose corn syrup…..it’s about as destructive a carbohydrate as can be marketed and in the US It’s in just about everything.

Apparently a large enough portion of the country LOVES Trump, they simply don't care if they are racist to the core.

It's not Obama's fault, not Biden's fault, and Biden is doing just fine. But let's hold him to a higher standard than Trump.
Go back and read the transcript from the Biden Trump debate.
Trump made more than 30 false claims during CNN’s presidential debate — far more than Biden
But Biden stutters, my God. Americans love a clown, not an intellectual. Much more entertaining.

joe sixpack has plenty of money for cigarettes, beer, lottery tickets, cell phones, sports, guns, and streaming services...but the cost of eggs went up due to avian flu....must be the Democrats fault.

    It's always the democrats fault.

Exactly. The US now has 5 types of diabetes variants, the last 3 variants of type 2 (non insulin dependant), but they are in complete denial about it.

If you've ever watched MAGA voters being interviewed you'd know there's some severe gullibility going around. When someone says Trump is honest and never lies you know that's a gullible person. Trump is so transparently dishonest and yet they don't pick up on it!

Nobody allowed Trump to win, the American public voted for him.

They had a choice, law and order, or a convicted felon.
    Good verses bad.
    They choose bad.
    Good did nothing wrong.

I had been posting on YouTube, arguing with the MAGAs, and their posts were unbelievable. "God bless President Trump!" "I hope and pray Donald Trump wins!" "Kamala Harris is a commie!" "Only Trump can save America!"
That's what we were up against, and no matter what Trump does to screw them over, I doubt they'll ever catch on.

I see it quite differently the repubs put up an abhorrent candidate, that should have by any means been easy to beat, the dems then played identity politics and lost.
