I did not feel like posting this in the Donald Trump thread, as it's long and I don't want to read it. So, it gets its own thread. Trump selects Pence as his VP. The same Pence who hates all the gays. I do not really see how this necessarily helps Trump. Sure, it helps him secure the very conservative and religious right, a demographic that would have very unlikely vote for Hillary anyhow. This also makes him more palatable to normal, average conservatives who can get behind a normal, sane, and sober guy like Pence. All in all, Pence will help in toning down Trump's entire boisterous image. On the other hand, I don't feel like this will help his cause in any significant way. All Hillary has to do now is to pick a highly qualified, popular VP nominee and she's got this in the bag. It's hard to know if this was a good strategic pick for Trump or not. There aren't really a whole lot of fence sitters out there, so maybe energizing elements of the base was the best strategy.
I do not know why there would be any fence sitters, but I can sorta figure why there are Trump supporters. There can be a hard yet delicate Government.
I heard it was to secure the bible belt and religous, because as you know, we have freedom of and from religion in this country. Soemthing about Pence' s religon. I was not paying attention anymore...i tune out now.....just I like did when Bush was in office.
I wish he would've picked Jesse Ventura, or Howard Stern. That way, I would have voted GOP for the first time in my whole life.

Its curious I think Trumps popularity is down to people wanting someone with financial know how in the top job. But this seems to indicate in his mind he thinks the majority would want him for conservative ideals. Assuming he did have a say, and its not part of some deal
He should have selected Caitlyn Jenner. Would have fitted in perfectly with the reality star aspect of the campain.
