So again we reach an impasse. Trump isn't a racist because he claims he isn't and he hasn't strung up any blacks or Latinos on the White House lawn yet. Just because some of the most notorious racists in the U.S. support Trump, his ideas, and policies, that has nothing to do with him. NPR dares to mention race in a story about the moon landings, I assume the story "Hidden Figures" about Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan, and Mary Jacksons' contribution, although the specific story isn't identified or anything about it.That shows NPR has an agenda to inflame the race issue and all of their reporting is suspect. And finally, if I understand this correctly, if we bring up racism it's because we hate everyone.
Nope, that's what I would have expected, but that was not where they went with it. Instead it was a buildup to the substantial contribution to humanity as a whole by the very achievement. Right on the heels of this came the "but, Americans were being horrible racists and yadda yadda yadda off to the races they go. They didn't even mention the fact that the US would never have made it to the moon without the efforts of 3 black ladies. Instead they jumped on to an unrelated track of racism in general during the late 60s. It's sort of like what happens when a black church catches on fire. The hard left press immediately trots out footage from the 50s and 60s before the ashes are cold and before any real investigation is done. At the same time they conveniently ignore the fact that 7 times as many "white" churches burn to the ground. But who cares about those? Those stories don't sell. But being able to insinuate the black churches were burned down by white racists, now THAT sells papers, fast. Even though most of the ones that have burned over the last 3 decades were inside jobs, by black church members seeking insurance claims and sympathy dollars. A clever ploy actually. But too often they leave evidence behind, usually too much gasoline, it only takes a little. We're not at an impasse because we've never been in agreement. I personally think most of the claims I hear about racism today are nothing more than political manipulation. I'm not saying ALL of them, and I never would. You'll also notice that I'm not inclined to put my words in your mouth. To the subject at hand though, I seriously doubt there's anything Trump could say or do that wouldn't be twisted instantly into racism. That is a fanatical tactic that belies the truth entirely and only as an effort to force a political position. So, I don't trust these assessments by opportunistic pundits and hard left hacks. Their reasons for promoting claims of racism are blatant and obvious. Consider the familiar refrain that denying being a racist, is racism. Or that white silence is white violence. Utter nonsense. An article in the Harvard Crimson last year by an Asian woman clarifies the issues that persist when people deny their own, obvious racism. See if you can figure out which comment is mine! Well, who did they support, who did they donate campaign funds too before Trump even announced he was running for Pres? Not like most of the time its directed at the President himself anyway, as opposed to whichever states senator/governor Not like most of these far right organizations havent been around for a lot longer than Trump has been Pres Not like any of those far right organizations have the kind of money to really influence anything as opposed to the multi nationals, oil companies etc Not like any President ever has much control of what gets passed in the senate anyway even when he is leader of the party that controls the senate Top individual campaign contributors to the Reps in 2016 were owners of a drug clinic in Vegas, the owners of Uline, 150 million between them Top company contributors were the hedge fund Renaisance Technoligies and the Las Vegas Sands casino chain 93 million between them And you are going on about a bunch of neo nazis that didnt want a statue taken down half of whom probably had to borrow their moms car to get there Top Individual Contributors: All Federal Contributions | OpenSecrets
It was 50th anniversary radio documentary so to speak. Which was presented rather well. And then immediately tied it to racism by asking a guest on the program how he could possibly survive as a black man working for NASA, surrounded by all those white people. It was clearly designed to be the rain on America's parade, something NPR does on a nearly daily basis these days. It has become nauseating propaganda, but I listen to it so I'll be able to keep a perspective. Which is why I think it's foolish for anyone to try to silence the position of others. It doesn't make their bullshit go away, it just drives it underground. Where it usually gets much worse. It's another reason I read some of the white supremacist sites, to know where they are. The most popular of them can barely afford to keep their site up (who knew klansmen were such misers). And their "message" has barely changed in the last decade, while their membership has dwindled. And yet, the media insists they're on the rise and working to take over America and the planet. Hilarious really. They lost at Dominica and never recovered. NPR is on 88.5 in Atlanta every day. The station used to be primarily Georgia State college's "Album 88" (which is now just a nighttime show). I miss their programming from back in the 80s when they premiered new music from compilation CDs and such.
I'm not sure it is possible to determine if Trump is racist or not. He knows how to straddle the fence in such a way as to appeal to as many voters as he can...and the vote of a racist counts just as much as the vote of a non-racist. He's like a whore, he doesn't care who fucks him as long as he gets what he wants.
He has definitely pushed an agenda that appeals to individuals who would be considered racist, but I'm not sure that he is personally.
How would you define that agenda? Seriously, what has he said or enacted that specifically appeals to racists? I ask because you could easily say that if Trump endorsed peanut butter. I'm willing to be a LOT of racists like peanut butter too. So, Trump's a racist for that? Of course not. What if the KKK suddenly decided they just LOVE Drake, does that mean that Drake is spreading a hateful racist message too? There's plenty of actual racism out there that doesn't need to be pondered as innuendo like this. Seems like dealing with the real thing is more important than trying to dig for tiny grains of it.
Yikes! What causes some people to have such a ridiculously distorted view of reality? I blame the media for brainwashing the gullible, mostly. You can also watch the Dems start some of these lies, or plant the seeds for them to be expounded on, but the outlets who are left leaning roll with this shit and make up all sorts of nonsense that gullible people soak up and love. It's comical to watch but it's grown to the point where the smart people are starting to get outnumbered, and that could be the downfall of the nation if not nipped in the bud. It's time to rise up against these fools and put them out of business. Get back to the pledge of allegiance and prayers in schools so we can all form a United bond toward a common goal. This shit the way it is has left way too many people clueless, purposeless, and bitter.
Yikes What bothers you has nothing to do with intelligence, and there have been studies that people who lean to the left generally have higher IQs than people who lean to the right anyways, but I digress What bothers you is that you want everyone to think like you, and when they dont you want to force it through government mandated school prayer and forced patriotism But not everyone thinks like you or worships like you. You live in a really diverse country, get used to it. You're the one that sounds bitter
Makes my skin crawl when people start talking about prayer in school. Put your kid in a private christian school
That's what they taught you in government school, eh? I'll be kind and give you the benefit of doubt that your assertion is based on ignorance instead of a deliberate lie. I can't begin to list all the dishonest things he did up to and including pretending the civil war he conducted was about slavery, so read "the truth about Abraham Lincoln" if you're interested in shaking that back woods bubba jive.
I was being facetious. I'm just pointing out that in no way, in any clear thinking society, could D. Trump be construed as an honest man. The fact that you all are suckered in by him speaks volumes to your own intelligence, and, in fact, I don't see the point in arguing with anyone who thinks he's a genuine person. That level of stupidity cannot be reckoned with, in my estimation.
Small-it, anyone? We are so low on real racism in this country today that the people who want to divide and conquer using it have to make it up and talk it up before even the gullible will begin to buy in.
Ninety-nine percent of the people at trump rallies are white. If he wanted blacks there, he would pay them to be there. The Civil War was not about slavery, the civil war was about economics.
Ya mean like, freedom for all??? Racists and non-racists alike able to express their opinions? First amendment style? Orange man bad...
