I think you may be confused about the meaning of representative democracy. Representative democracy, as distinguished from direct democracy in which voters vote directly in referenda on policy measures (as in State Questions), involves voters voting for representatives who will make the policy decisions for them. I said "my ass" because the electoral college, extensive gerrymandering of electoral districts, and the uncontrolled influence of dark money make true representative democracy--or democracy of any kind-- a joke. BTW, it's almost midnight here. I really am going to bed!

 

I'd say if there's truth to the story that Prince wants to take over the operations of prisons in China where the Uyghurs are imprisoned, he would be complicit in the Chicom operation. And if Trump is involved (I don't say that he is) he might be complicit too.

 

It depends on what you mean by represented. If you mean that somebody who looks like you and is of the same age is making the decisions, you might not be well-represented by Joe. If you take a more Burkean view and feel represented by a person with extensive experience in government and who seems to be level-headed, there might be something to be said for Joe.
