The number of corona virus deaths per head of the population in the UK is currently more than double that of the US. While the virus peaked sooner here, the path looks fairly similar.

All that any government can do is to prevent the virus spreading to a point where their health services are overwhelmed and people who could be saved are dying.

Annual death rate in the UK in 2018 was 541,000 while that in the US was 2,839,000. Only time will tell how Covid19 will affect these figures.

We use Flue as a generic term for outbreaks of a mutated virus. Although a particularly nasty mutation, Covid19 is no different.

If we want to blame anyone, we should blame China. Due to poor sanitation in the poorer areas, along with people eating raw meat and fish that has died from viral infection, they have allowed several deadly mutations to develop over recent decades. Their secrecy in the early stages has also delayed the development of vaccines.
I personally suspect that Corona mutated to 19 more than a year before it became public. High death-rates involving previous viruses probably followed the same pattern.

He was impeached,for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. The first charge centered on trying to extort co-operation from the head of a foreign power to smear his political opponent, Joe Biden, by threatening to withhold military aid. The second charge had to do with trying to keep everybody and his dog connected with the administration from cooperating with the investigation, and withholding key evidence. So no big deal? And that happened last December, before the WHO reported that a mysterious virus was infecting people in China. Is this the latest Republican excuse for Trump's sorry performance in handling the pandemic.

He took action as soon as this all started to stop travel from China and you called him a racist. He called for meds that are being used all over the world to be tested, and you called for them to be banned. He reorganized three separate National Security directorates into a single directorate called the “Counterproliferation and Biodefense Directorate” and you started screaming lies about him shutting down the Pandemic Response Team. He called for lockdowns and you called him a tyrant. He acknowledged he didn’t have the Constitutional authority to shut down the country, so you started screaming he wasn’t doing anything to help. Governors started locking down their states and were hailed as heroes. Then when they started opening their states back up, the R govs are being called mass murderers while Dem govs that are so doing so are being called heroes trying to help the people of their states.
