    OK, hopefully, I'm wrong but...
The new Postmaster General is a wealthy friend, and donor to, the President. He certainly didn't need this job. His, obvious, politics is to reelect Donald Trump.

    The sorting equipment that the Postal Service uses is programmable. It could easily be programmed to delay or discard mail-in ballots. And demographics of which zip codes are blue and which are red are available to anyone. In fact, how you are registered to vote is public information. Here's just one of many ways to find out just that;
    https://voterrecords.com/

If you really don't believe that this administration would do something like that, then you haven't watched the news, or heard Trump speak, or read Trump's tweets over the past three+ years.

If you intend to use a mailed ballot in the general election this year then either mail it in early (and check to see that it's been received) or drop it off yourself. Don't simply rely on the USPS to make the delivery on time, or at all.

Well he did say publicly that he was doing this deliberately to keep some people from voting.

What a blatant criminal. If Americans don't wake up they will be doomed to more of this as the Republicans will never give up their power as long as they can draw a breath.

You are right. Republicans do not wish to relinquish power. And as long as they have power to enjoy causing harm and pain to other Americans. They enjoy the suffering of poor Americans who must live without the help of food stamps, now that the Republicans have cut them. They enjoy the suffering of Americans who have had their winter heat assistance cut. They enjoy watching thousands of Americans who must stand in lines for hours just so they could vote, just because the postal service has been damaged by a Republican president. Then there are the school kids who must go to school and sit in a room packed with other kids during a pandemic, and then go hungry because the Republicans don't want to give them a school lunch. What is truly amazing is the Republican insensitivity to the thousands of Americans who have died because of Coronavirus. Nearly 180,000 Americans have died of Coronavirus and Republicans don't feel anything ... not one bit of compassion. Of the hundreds of thousands who did live through the brutal attack, their internal organs are often damaged permanently. Some of them have to be on oxygen and pacemakers for ever. Some have had legs cut off, because Coronavirus has a way of plugging up the arteries in the legs. In some cases Coronavirus has made glass-like deposits in the victim's lungs, forcing doctors to give them lung transplants. The Republicans know this and still claim the virus is nothing more than the average run of the mill flue. In fact, the Republicans don't care if someone has their legs cut off or if they need lung transplant. Republicans also don't case about disabled people. They don't care if a man who is dependent on a wheel chair must wheel himself 3 miles through the snow to get the mail, because Trump has removed the mail Condo near his home. Republicans don't care if that same disabled man and his wife have to use their wheel chairs for 5 miles to get to the voting location. because the location near their home was shut down for some strange reason. Yes Trump has shut down hundreds or thousands of post offices, and removed mail sorting machines. The central reason is clear: The Republicans now know they have convinced most Americans that they don't want government services available to anyone, don't want taxes; they don't care if people die on the sidewalks, if children go hungry at school. Consequently, Republicans know they have not won the hearts of the American voters, precisely because they have been so heartless themselves. And because of this, the Republicans know they need to commit crimes against the American people again to stay in power. The Republican hair brained idea for an attack on the post office has convinced millions of additional Americans to vote against Trump and his Republicans..

It's time for Americans to wake up to the fraud that has been perpetrated on them all.

Maybe we could do away with in-person voting all together and it will save the postal service. :)

Trump would probably like to do away with voting, entirely...

Good points. When Trump says there's going to be widespread fraud, he's actually telling us what he plans to do.

You know, as much as this is about voting rights, there is also the problem of the general slowdown of the mail.
I have a relative who doesn't drive, and relies on the mail to receive her high blood pressure medicine.

Actually... Trump has been saying all along that "Absentee ballots are fine... You just can't vote by mail" He contradicts himself all the time....

Jesus, this is worst than George Orwell's 1984. The East is West Winston! All papers must be deposited in the designated receptacle. And you must perform your exercises. And you must never question the Orange Painted Big Brother!

I say let the postal service crash and burn.

It's cheaper to send your mail through a private delivery service than it is to keep USPS alive with tax dollars at this point.

USPS didn't even offer tracking numbers until the private sector shipping services emerged.

    I liked that service though.

You may have a point, but it's a pretty massive service. It would cause a ruckus at UPS and FedEx. Also, & I've recently encountered this in my own life, I don't know how international the UPS and FedEx and all of the others are. If I want to ship jewelry, I'm not sure of the service or adequate security. But that goes for the postal service as well.

I think the big problem too would be that USPS comes to you to pick up your mail, and makes deliveries daily. Other services don't have an organized route or anything.

The USPS has stopped removing mailboxes in western states until after the election but not eastern states. Of course they can't remove private mailboxes.

Anyway when you get your mail-in ballot, fill it out and send it in right away. Make sure it arrives in plenty of time by November 3. If you don't vote for anyone or anything else please at least vote for Joe Biden. Support the landslide!

How would it cause a ruckus at UPS and FedEx? They are also just as international as DHL and other foreign shipping companies. FedEx and UPS have proven that postage services can be sustained by the private sector.
If the government stopped sustaining USPS, it's likely that UPS and FexEx would start buying out post office locations. Or the Postal Workers union would take control of it and operate it like a private company.
