You are way off … again. The New Deal started in 1933 when President FDR took office. His socialism was very popular and he got elected FOUR TIMES. Hoover's Republican pro-business methods gave us the Great Depression. The American people learned real quick that Republicans will laugh all the way to the bank while they starve on the sidewalk … in line for the soup kitchen

Oh, come on, the space force is cool

The name sounds a bit funky, like something out of a B grade 70s sci fi movie

But the idea is cool, lazer beams and mini death stars

    *edit* Too catty.

  5. People don't name their policies "deals" enough any more. But what do you call them when "New Deal" and "Fair Deal" are taken? Good Deal? Would that work? How about "Another Deal?"

You're talking economics and the long run, but as Lord Keynes said "In the long run we'll all be dead", and because of politics we probably won't get there. Any political scientist would tell you it's a question of relative pain thresholds. President Xi is president for life. Trump is President until the next election less than two years away (longer if he gets re-elected). As we know, an election is coming up in the U.SA.in 2020.and if GNP, per capita incomes and employment go down before then, so will Trump. Five years is four years too short for him. When he "blinked on August 14 with his Christmas shopping truce, Goldman Sachs took it as a sign of weakness, and so probably has China. Yes, we've entered into uncharted territory--the forbidden zone, according to neo-liberal economics. Markets hate uncertainty. So do voters. Trump will do one of two things: continue on his present course, cause a recession, and risk likely destruction, or surrender, be discredited, and risk likely destruction. Heads Xi wins, tails Trump loses.

Like to explain what you're talking about?

  9. I would join the space force if it meant flying spaceships and shooting lasers at bad guys. You can't even get an army in space, though. They're going to be just like the army, because they'll all just be on Earth, right? Right.

Read it again … STARTED in 1933 … STARTED it was a social experiment to repair America after the damage caused by Hoover. I did not talk about the date the law was enacted, which happened in 1935. I pointed out STARTED. If you had been American like me, you would understand our laws START as a legislative bill and if passed by both houses of our congress and signed by the president, become ENACTED into law. IN 13 months you will see our legislative process START work again. In October 2020 many new bills will START in congress. Under our laws, ALL BILLS OF REVENUE must start in the House of Representatives. IN January they will be ENACTED into law. When you wish to debate me, don't drink too much.
