Had Hunter Biden been a Republican with the same resume, you guys would be howling for his scalp. Manfort is exhibit A.
well its shameful of course. not because he did one naughty thing, and got caught in an undeniable manor doing so, but because it has been the lifelong pattern of his behavior. and even that, might be passed of as just a dirty little joke, as his minions have succeeded in doing, if it weren't a real threat to just about everything. and not just a threat, but an ongoing process of destruction. a process for which we are all likely to soon have to pay, those of us who are not yet already paying.
if he were guilty of a tiny fraction of what trump is, which he is not, it absolutely would not matter what else he was or wasn't.
If you care to recall Democrats demanded the resignation of Al Frankin for pretending to touch a women's breasts in a photo that was obviously a crass joke from a man who wrote and acted on Saturday Night Live....a former comedian. If you care to recall Trump and his entire family have and currently are committing acts far in excess of anything Hunter and Joe have ever done. Or did I misunderstand you?
The only accusation I've heard was that Hunter Biden was unqualified. Like Jared Kushner. At least Hunter Biden was unqualified and in charge of something not important. Kushner got put in to handle middle East peace.
Regardless what side of the political spectrum HP members are on, I respect and value all of your opinions. I will always be of the belief that the institution of American politics is a sham. If not, explain to me how other countries can: Offer free education (Norway, Finland, Sweden) - granted taxes are higher; I would pay them; Offer medications that, in some countries, are 50 times lower than Americas for the same damn things; Have gun control and low crime without everyone whining about gun control and crime; Have higher literacy rates and more sophisticated education systems; Have established armed forces that are treated much better upon their completion of terms; Have GDPs from 1% to 50% of America's, yet have more stability; and Actually encompass the "American dream" despite not being molded after America. Doesn't matter if Joe Walsh, Ted Nugent, Trump or Donald Duck are president; the political fabric will continue to be the same pile of shit it has been since the dawn of time until we change our system of checks and balances, set term limits, and give everyone the chance to succeed and be healthy without worrying if Eli Lilly, or GlaxoSmithKline are going to get pissed that drug prices are controlled.
I understand, but you're comparing the US to nations that have only a fraction of the population. There's infrastructure to be considered for so many people in the US. Part of the reason the Canadian Healthcare plan that was cobbled into RomneyCare for Massachusetts didn't work for the entire US is because there are not enough doctors, nurses, hospitals or beds for all of America. We can't make something "free" if it doesn't exist in the first place. Which is where the ACA failed so miserably (the individual mandate was another). Also, the "American Dream" is a moving target that relies on many interpretations. Most of them are indeed common with what people in other, modern nations. People prefer freedom to make their own mistakes. But some do prefer to have the government to blame them all on. For decades NATO nations relied on the US arsenal to protect them from the Soviets/Russians. Only Trump stepped up to deal with the fact they were not paying their fair share while treating our military troops like shit. I've worked with German, British, Portuguese and French people all over the world and I am often amazed at the way they look down their noses at the Americans. Pure, undeserved arrogance. It's not "all" of them by any means, but it's weird how many of them pivot on a dime when it's time to trash America.
You keep making this argument while completely ignoring the fact that under a universal healthcare system, people can get the preventative care they need which will cut down on the demand for the complex care that comes with not catching things early. You also keep making this argument without providing any supporting evidence, I couldnt help but notice
The evidence is out there for all to see. The numbers of all of these is finite. There's less than 6,000 hospitals in the whole nation. For 350 million people. What support do you need for basic math?
Since you're making the claim why dont you do me a solid and do the basic math for me? Out of 350 million people, how many people require hospitalization at one time on average? How do these numbers compare to countries with a universal healthcare system that have a focus on preventative and early care? Also what do these countries do to ensure they're attracting enough people to work in the medical field to ensure there's no nursing and doctor shortage? What do countries with a universal healthcare system do to ensure they have enough beds to keep up with a growing population?
Another thing, I am NOT "against" a universal healthcare system that would care for everyone, it's long overdue. But part of the reason for that is the lack of infrastructure and an ever-increasing population. And by the way, there's only 1.1 million doctors, and they are not all GP. Even if they all took 350 patients each it would mean foot doctors and neurosurgeons would have to serve as general practitioners in addition to their specialty. It's just untenable given the numbers.
What a terrible thing to say. This is why people compare Trump and his supporters to Hitler... because this is what you say. You want leftists gone like cockroaches, bedbugs, and rats... so literally exterminated? Awesome. I'm sure there is good in you somewhere but based on what you just said anyone would be justified in assuming that you're a horrible, horrible human being. So good luck with that...
Crazed rantings of a person who doesn't talk to anyone they know with ideological differences, but has heard about them from the media. The perfect example of why kids shouldn't let their parents watch Fox.
I've given the two most impacting figures. But, there's also about 2.5 million register nurses, still not enough. We would need 3 times what we have to pull it off. The only way to get there will be to reduce the demand while building up the infrastructure until one catches up with the other. It will take decades. I'm no happier about this than anyone else, it's a tragedy for such an advanced nation. But nobody can dodge the population bomb.
