I was watching a NatGeo documentary last night, woke up this morning and wanted to create this thread. I'm sure someone else has started one similar to this already. Just listing a few nature documentaries (and related material, including space, landscapes, etc) that I've found interesting. I guess I'll start with the one that sparked this idea:

    Chimanzee

Narrated by Tim Allen. (I figured it out when he made a reference to power tools. Like... really dude? You just HAD to bring that up? lol) Gorgeously shot, the scenery is magnificent. It follows two rival tribes of chimpanzees fighting over a central food source area. Also, documenting a life of one particular young chimp and her mother. Lots of slow-motion high def camera footage.
    Strongly recommended.

Here's an extra that I thought was really cool. Not directly related to that documentary.

Journey to The Edge of the Universe

Like I mentioned before, related material included, this is currently my favorite space documentary. There are two versions, one for US and one for UK. Needless to say, I saw the US version first and (oddly enough) Alec Baldwin's voice seems more natural to me. This is truly an epic adventure of a documentary and explains a few of the deepest reaches of space I never knew existed. Very cool to watch. A mesmerizing glimpse on what surrounds us beyond this blue globe we call home.

    Animals of the Galapagos Islands

This isn't the documentary I saw a few years ago, but it's pretty interesting, nonetheless. I found a different documentary at the local library here and it was fascinating. Nothing I've found on Youtube comes close to the experience it portrayed, but this is sure to amaze. All the creatures and various landscapes on the Galapagos islands are amazing. A place transformed by time, an evolutionary melting pot. I recommend to those that crave knowledge of new and interesting things to look into Galapagos.

Just an extra to go along with the mysterious dancing of the "birds of paradise," someone linked this video to me a while back and, even though I don't necessarily like looking at spiders, watching the mating ritual dance of the peacock spider was something I found very amusing to say the least. Very cool watch. Short, only about 5 minutes long, but explains in great detail the background on these particular spiders and a fantastic view of their mating dances.
