True or False: Murder is Murder regardless of what it is?

Have a friend who told me he actually believes this? But he says that “Killing is Killing” or “Murder is Murder”? So he said this applies even to cases of say like animals or bugs/insects or anything living on Planet Earth? He went as far as to say even people who ever like “Hunted Deer” or “Hunt foxes or bears or other prey” could be considered “killers/murderers” for hunting animals? He even went as far as to say killing “a fly” or killing “an insect” in the room is considered murder no matter what way you try to look at it??

Would you agree with that? Or like I asked: Do you think what my friend argues here would be “True or False”??? I think the Bible might even say something like animals are put here for us as humans to eat and consume so I don’t really see how killing would be wrong if Bible says we’re allowed to hunt?

But I suppose the bug scenario could be considered murder, if the bug has not harmed you or is not doing anything to you and you just go up and smash it and kill it: Maybe my friend could be right about that? Perhaps that could be considered legit killing?

So like my question asked: “True or False: Murder is Murder regardless of whether you kill a fly, kill a bear, or kill any animals whatsoever?”
