If you can't love yourself, true love is impossible, and in the words of the immortal Elizabeth Barrett Browning,

    How do I love thee?
    Let me count the ways!

but which end and what will it do to you when it does.

love is love and affection would, should and could, be universally harmless.

readily observable evidence clearly suggests that humans are not a life mating species,
yet we have understandably adopted cultures of doing so,
to counter act the insecurities which are an aspect of our species.

Genghis Khan lived to be 65, while 8% of Mongolia and about 8 million men total, are directly descended from him. If love were merely physical, we'd already be extinct.

i hope you meant if we love ONLY the physical, and that of the physical which aggrandises ourselves in the eyes of others. because it IS THAT misplaced priority, which is destroying the physical environment upon which our physical existence depends. no idea what the khan and mongolia have to do with it. happily i've outlived him by six years so far.

as for the non-physical, whatever is there, and i do believe there is a great deal, possibly a whole 'parallel' universe worth, still owes nothing to what people tell each other.
love is cool, it shapes our intentions in a good way, but our priorities shape our behavior, and the results, be they spiritual or material, of it.

My opine was not aimed at you 'Gone' - but at the originator of the Thread (It may have seemed a retort to you but that's probably because you were the last one posting - perhaps that was not clear?)
    - As for keeping score/s on children's football games - how little you know - albeit be going back a bit - I would often quote to the Girls I was coaching "There is a time and place for enjoyment and fun, and a time where the goal is a match to be won" so I'm afraid you are mistaken on your presumption

  10. There is some crossover. Hipforums has taken a lot of cues from social media, and posting a damned song doesn't warrant the level of attacks that have been waged against pr. It's obvious some posters have something personal against him, which I think stems back to his crisis actors post, as that is when I first noticed the animosity.

I really do think there is a place for posting songs on hipforums. All of this animosity is just ridiculous. You're acting like he committed some serious offense, when all he did was share a song.

  11. I don't know of any rule that says you have to make every thread be about you instead of about something else. The way things go around here, it will all end up being about you anyway.

  12. Lots of bickering, seems like everyone hates each other sometimes

love has precisely the same odds of finding you in the end, as it has of not doing so.
has anyone tried to parse that phrase?

any statement can be construed as valid, if ambiguous enough to be devoid of useful content?

An internet forum fits the definition of a social medium. Just because there are differences between different kinds of social media (plural form of medium) like a forum and for example snapchat doesn't make a forum less of a social medium

Every purpose seeking person (passive or not) should at least try weed. A significant amount of purpose or meaning seekers becomes a regular indulger. I for one understand 100% :)

edit: and no... for most its not to sedate themselves in order to get rid of the awareness there's no purpose or meaning :p

    He can take it.

Some would say online socializing is an oxymoron, that the whole point is to be less social and either spout gibberish or argue nonsense. If Twitter or Facebook were anymore plastic, hollow, and empty they would make their own readers throw up. Even the academic websites, are so full of crap its not funny, and only interested in promoting their own agendas.

Thankfully, I got all the research done on Reddit and other forums that I had to do, and Youtube is about the only other website I post on. Sadly, I've gotten more coherent responses on Youtube than any other website, including some frequented by countless academics. I've spent decades discussing philosophy and physics with professionals, and can honestly say they are lucky if a tiny fraction of them have a clue as to what they are saying.

But, they tend to spout at least highly organized nonsense, that is useful for my work.
