This is a slightly modified form of the basic Trolly Problem. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trolley_problem
Ohhh I thought the 5 people have caused such a dilemma by their actions before this fateful moment, and the one man is just an innocent kidnap victim. I get the dilemma but it is really easy to me to pull the lever. Unless they are 5 Irishman....
no i was thinking more like a halfway switch would cause a derail and save them all....but leave them tied there but then now im thinking what about if the trolley is full of people..a derail might cause even more death
Maybe the trolley would derail, killing all of the people on the trolley and also killing all the people tied to the tracks as it flipped over
That crossed my mind about hitting 5 people. One person it might run over but 5 I think would be to much bone to just run over. I wasn't thinking of it like you though. I was thinking of it like a light switch. You can put it halfway and nothing happens but a little further and still halfway and it is on.
i'll admit i'm no trolley expert, but i feel like that little thing could stop in plenty of time to save everyone if it just put on the brakes.
There's always one rickety rackety wheel on a trolley. It makes for good fun when you in car park and you see the trolley racks and you wanna push it in from a distance. Gotta judge when and how fast it'll turn when you let go of it. I've nailed it once, and the whole car park knew about it too.
The question is wrong. It should be five people who like to ask trolley questions and one who refuses to answer them.
