Wow TNS, you're gettin hip in your musical tastes. :sunny: Speaking of diggin an album GB, I've been groovin to this one, another Simon Posford project. This is a playlist link to the whole album. https://www.youtube.com/user/TwistedMusicUK#p/c/D3AEF1A8527903D9/3/uBMevrK_HLg
That's a good one, I had A Flock of beeps burned on CD. The newest Younger Brother album was kind of different from what I heard, it was more of a bridge between psytrance and rock. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6owhRCw5uE"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6owhRCw5uE
haha Did you think that I ONLY like rap? I've always liked a wide variety of music. Here's my trip mix on youtube. Lots of quality tripping music: https://www.youtube.com/user/TopNotchStoner?feature=mhee#p/p
Naw... just joshin ya man. I know you like it all... prob even more than me cause I get way picky when it comes to classical and rap/hip-hop. I should be more into classical since my parents were both classically trained musicians. Maybe later in life...
Yah alot of that early trance sounds very psytrance-ish, are you familiar with Paul Van Dyk? Here is PVD early work https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cILjqRLduWg"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cILjqRLduWg Compare it to :/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwF2NEYi_i4"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwF2NEYi_i4
^Damn yea I've heard of him, that some craziness, pretty much two completely different styles. I guess you probably get a lot more people liking and buying your music if its some trancey pop stuff everyone can dance too, rather then only appealing to a range of psychedelic trippers and rave heads with the psytrance. Of course music does evolve, but that seems like a bit of sell out. I watched a video the other day of electronic music from the 90s. There was a sticker that said, "no more fucking rock n roll". The vibe just seemed completely different. I think people back then were trying to get away from the mainstream and create a music no ones every heard before. The psytrance sound seems like way of doing that. Now a days the idea seems to be, combine all genres, bring all levels of music to a certain point. You can still hear the original trance influence, but now lets combine it with a female pop artist, lets put some swaggin hip hop type breaks in there, lets add more bass, etc etc.
