i would second sts9...cant really go wrong with them on acid as much as i hate to say it lol(im sure they have a label of that kind of thing)....also i thought keller williams was surprisingly really awesome for acid/live...very flippity floppity, goofy and bouncy...silly but with great sense of rhythm..he reminds me of leo kottke in ways....lots of positive energy on acid lol...

god damn...i loved their show! a lot of ppl i knew couldnt handle it while tripping and had to dip...my miind was blown!

 

Yeah, that is them. Another time he was dressed up as like this tree-man thing, and his limbs (arms) were like 5 feet long and he could contract them and push them back out.

Another time he like strapped around 1000 glowsticks to his body and put himself in one of those clear balls, like a human hampster ball, and rolled around the crowd, everybody pushed him all over the entire crowd, and he would like run across the crowd in the ball....

The glowsticks would fall out and they were spinning around in the ball while he was being throw around...and they finally put him back on stage, and he took off all the glowsticks and threw them all out into the middle of the crowd, it was nuts.

wow i would love to see them in concert idk if i could handle tripping there though with all the people but damn that would be awesome to wacth first hadn while tripping i think i would cry if iwas with that many people tripping when im in a room with to many people i always freak out but man i think that would be worth the risk cause thats fuckin awesome

 

It's actually really cool on MDMA. Raves in general are amazing on MDMA, it's awesome being around a bunch of people that are sharing the same vibe as you, and being able to watch a show like that while peaking is just the icing on the cake.

 

I just saw Tea Leaf Green (The band that Reed Mathis left to play with) on 2c-i Friday Night. They were badass and Reed Mathis is the shit!

Yeah, at the variety playhouse. Brock Butler came out and played a few songs with them. I live near Stone Mountain, but my friends live in the Highlands that at hang out with on weekends.

does it get really intense, though, being around that many people? i wouldn't want to have a really hardcore freakout in the middle of a crowd.

My first acid trip was in 1967 at the Boston Tea Party, Boston, MA. Copped some Orange Osley on Charles Street. Got to see Joe Cocker; Family and others - great light show.

That, first of all, depends on your personality and how open you can be.
Then of course, it depends on where you see them, where your seats are, and how much you end up taking lol.
I cant imagine being able to afford going this year, or even find the time, but I saw them at the Tweeter in Camden, NJ both nights in both 2003 and 2004. The first night in the '04 tour, I went with 6 people, and the guy who leads my meditation group in south Philadelphia was living above the Italian restaraunt on 4th and South St at the time, and if you know Philly, you'll know that's 4 blocks away from the waterfront and the ferry takes you directly across to the Tweeter Center.
Ran into some kid on the ferry who came down from western PA and he decided to stick with our group. I remember we bought a bunch of acid, but I cant remember how much I took. Then I ran into some kids from my block (had no idea they were going, one of them sweet random meetups on shakedown) and while walking with them was pulled aside by a couple who offered me some MDMA capsules. So I bought two and popped one and continued my, at this point completley random, roaming around talking with people, listening to the little bands playing on top of cars and buses etc.
After 45 minutes or so of wandering aimlessly I somehow found my friend (the one who's house was on South St) sitting on a car with a bunch of people drinking beer, he handed me one and I was chilling, starting to wonder why I wasnt feeling either the acid or the molly, and 2 of the kids who I intially left with came up to me offering mushrooms. So Im like "well, why not?" and ate down a chocolate. Then a dude in behind me shouted for my attention, and I walked over to find that he was filling n2o out of the back of his van.
So I bought one, asked a friend to hold my beer (not sure how many beers I had at this point lol) and took in the baloon in one go.
And then as I let my breath go, the first thing I noticed was that my stomach turned and felt like gravity was sucking me into the ground. I stood there for a moment in a daze and when the head ringing faded enough, my vision exploded with melting faces, swirling tiedye shirts, cars were shapeshift congealing into one another, the sky was a closing down on me, and I couldnt remember who I was, where I was, how to talk or walk or think and so on what have you etc.
Last thing I remember is peeing on a baby tree near the waterfront, thinking that I was at least being semi concealed to the people walking by, but then I realized the tree trunk was about as thick as a roll of toilet paper and I was standing a few feet away from it. I started cracking up and continued my leak and some guy walking a dog went past and laughed and I said something like "Hey Im just walking my dog man".
Then I came to in my friends house with all of my original group sitting around smoking, but I was so out of it I couldnt share the laughter with that ship of fools. I dont believe I ever made it into the concert that first night lol, I probably walked back to South St and harassed the tourists and window shoppers with psycho babble.
I did go the next night, and didnt take any psychedelics because of the mess I made of myself previously, but we did bring in a few joints and slammed some beers in the lot beforehand, and it was a so-so show. Had lawn seats, got beer spilled on my face, my hair and my shirt several times from drunks stumbling and falling all over the place, and had a few of the joints we politley passed around walked away with and got very little in return from the other direction.
2003 however, was the absolute worse. I didnt buy any psychedelics (though I did score some decent hash) but had quite a few drunks try to sell me construction paper and one even tried to pass off a peice of a Marlboro box and was like "yo it's red triangle acid brah, fuckin crazy shit I dont even know whats going on" lol, I was like "brah, how you gon tear off your pack and hand me that?" Very shady shit, I heard the molly was good but never did hear back on the acid from anyone who actually snatched some up.
Point being is that it mostly depends on where you see them play. If your going to see them in New Jersey, get ready for some major bullshit. It can be tight, and if you keep your eyes open you can find some good family, but I wouldnt recommend letting your eyes light up when the first person walks buy shouting doses. Tons of assholes in Philly and Camden love to come rip of the kids who just want to get a little goofy and see a concert.
And I guess the last time I tripped at any major event was Philadelphia Folk Festival, which is a gaurenteed crazy weekend no matter who you are. But again, I dont remember anything after eating the acid except getting lost in the midnight crowds and cracking up in the porta potty when the Sun came up. I tend to go overboard with psychedelics when Im surrounded by people who are either on them as well or know where your headed, so my memories are pretty foggy lol. Just dont take a high dose if you have lawn seats and are uncomfortable tripping in unfamiliar enviorments. Take 2-3 hits and get good seats, that way if it gets into you, you can just relax in a chair and let the music play without having a 250lb. drunk fall on top of you and soak you with beer and sweat.
