Yep, they'll be in Trieste, Italy on May 29th!!! I definately going. Very happy about this. Not too often that we get good music out here. Once in a while, but not too often. Plus I missed BOTH Gov't Mule and Jam in the Dam this year.

Side note: I did see the Wailers, who were smokin' hot. Familyman was tight as ever. They have this other really good reggae/dancehall, etc. singer "Gentleman" that I saw in Nürnberg. Kinda sentimental like Lucky Dube, but a little quicker, uplifting, and positive.

Also, The Bad Plus are playing in Amsterdam this weekend. I might check them out. Are they any good?

I really don't care... as long as Trey and Ray LaMontagne will be at VA Beach here... I don't care. I like live music and I got second row seats for $79.00

yeah, i know...it's bad but when it comes to live music i am greedy :D trey will rock but i'm not a fan of any of the other bands on the zooma tour except mmw and they aren't even playing much. it'd just be GREAT to see trey and another band i really like, ya know? in fact, i'd be a million times happier with trey and mmw than with trey and harper

yeah the scene at alpine is pretty sketch compared to deer creek. If i decide to go Ill proboly go to creek even though its a further drive. After last year i decided i was done with alpine. Speaking of sketch venues in wisconsin, summerfest is pretty horrible too, security, and atmosphere- wise.

I saw trey in chicago a few weeks ago and its it was incredible. DEffinitly trhe best show i have seen in chicago and 2nd best show i have seen in my life time. I just came to the relization that his little band is to play a little music while he rips on guitar. its not phish but thats not what i was expecting. its was fuckein awsome and i dont know who says he is doing h-bomb but all aroudn the country people have little rummers about different drugs that hes addicted to. its quiet humerous. And you know if he is on some shit thats to bad but im still gona enjoy his playen untill he dies.

Yeah, he's one of my new favorite guitarists. I just started listening to Ekoostik Hookah a couple weeks ago. I'd heard about them a bunch of times but I came across a website by accident and remembered about them and decided to search for songs by them. I love their stuff.

is your head really that far up your ass?
heres an example: Yngwie J. Malmsteen
not only is Yngwie light years away from trey anastasio's playing, but he has also inspired many thousands of players, most of them relatively unknown, who could dust trey at guitar with ease
like you said, mass appeal doesnt mean anything... theres a countless number of excellent guitar players out there that arent on MTV

I'd recommend downloading some of their shows from www.archive.org

stay away from the audience recordings as they tend to sound far too 'bassy' and the vocals are kind of low. There are some excellent soundboard recordings on there though

whats with the personal attacks? so i prefer trey to any guitarist. so i find him to be the best. why does my head need to be up my ass? with trey's compositional and jamming skills, there is no one in the world who plays or reachs what he does. think what you want. but trey's the fuckin man......

I will agree Trey is a great composer, but even he has started to get weak in that area too. There are atleast 25 better players than Trey in the last 25 years...

Pardon the interruption in the discussion at hand, but for everyone's information, Zooma Tour was officially cancelled this evening. New dates are on the way. Trey.com for more information.

I'm guessing the cancellation was money related. Trey probably wasn't getting what he believed to be his fair share of the pie. You all do realize that the primary reason behind Phish's break up was money right? Ask anyone who worked for Dionysian Productions and they'll let you know that to be true.
