Trey is not a crack head. he was addicted to opiates. regaurdless of his failings, when trey was on, he was the best. he has the ability to reach places only gods can dream of.
yeah, i'm getting tired with all the negativity about Trey. the people who know who they are should just cut the guy a break just refer back to the road recovery thread people! as for the poll, i voted first on instinct but- a vote for Trey, I think, is a vote against Phish and visa versa which isn't right. or in other words, in my opinion, this isn't a proper poll?
^^ I dig. i love both bands. But the Phish experience is something that no band will ever be able to tap into again. that was a very specific source and only Phish (mike, page, fishman, and trey) has the right combination to it. hopefully they come back and like turning the keys on the submarine, they all move together as one to blow us all the fuck away yet again!!
never judge a band on a festival set. they can be very uninspired some times. its all about the tour and those perfect gem of shows that you stumble upon...not the hyped up Fest set....
unless that festival in Roo 02, because TREY threw down so hard that night! it was amazing. one of the greatest shows of all time, not just trey or phish. he had so much energy and the jams were just face melting!!!
I still haven't listened to Trey. I have heard like 2 songs of his and they all seemed to have a real strong gospel influence..like parts of hoist.
imo.. if there is one Trey must have CD, it's 'Horseshoe Curve' by far. get it!!! Or if looking for live then the double cd, "Plasma". gotta remember this is Trey's big band. time for him to play conductor which means taking a back seat in many of the songs. trey's compositional skills REALLY shine in his solo work imo and really best if not comparesd to any Phish cd. but get Horseshoe or Plasma, you'll see...
