Stuff has a way of finding it's way on to my internet.

Who here's heard of Townes van Zandt? That's a very Germanic sounding name.

This is chilled as fuck, and some nice finger picking going on there too.

Joking aside, that's interesting. Maybe something to do with YouTube algorithms?

I like how YouTube leads me to new things sometimes, I've discovered a lot of new stuff that way, and this is the latest thing.

In an interview, he claims to have seen a TV show with the characters Pancho and Lefty, days AFTER he wrote the song. "how trippy is that?"

Flyin' Shoes always makes me sad for some reason, so I try not to listen to it albeit being one of my favorite songs. He says he was out lying in the fields on his property which saw a battle in the civil war and he wrote the song about a confederate soldier. You wouldn't know it though, in the lyrics themselves. It's not about anything like that at all. I just find the music sad and I tend to get sad thinking about it, like right now I can hear the first 30secs in my head and it makes me sad.

    van is Dutch though.
    von is German.

    They mean "of"

So it's Townes "of the" Zandt family. Though Zandt sounds more German IMO plus he sings a few German themed songs.
