And, all snakes are obligate carnivores. In some states it's legal to own a snake.

Vegans, how do you expect your poor snake to survive and thrive, if he's fed a vegan diet?

But, as I've already said. Milking is good for the cows. They have an excess of milk left. And they sometimes ask, beg even, to be milked. Did you know that?

And eggs I don't know. It's painful for the chickens to lay. But that's just their monthly cycle. The same with human females with their monthly menstrual cycle. But, egg production should be more humane. And sanitary. More sanitary would improve the lives of those chickens alone. It would.

And. Instead of shocking people with lurid pictures, why don't you vegan/PETA types just inform people? Inform. Inform them with the facts. Then they won't be turned off by all of that instead of listening to your arguments.

And to be frank, you vegans/PETA's do more harm when you have unrealistic goals that get you no support and make people think to become a vegan (or vegetarian) they have to become radical first. And change their way of living.

Kind of like the communists, really.

You know, you vegans. I don't know if you understand what I am saying to you. You're probably right in principle. And that's wonderful if that's how you live your life. But you aren't going to win many converts. Especially being so confrontational.

But you know, I often find the wisdom of Star Trek sums up life's profound statements. Here. From "The City on the Edge of Forever" (1967):

"She was right, but at the wrong time."

And on the subject of circus animals again. Why don't they make the argument of how many times the animals hurt those trainers? How often does that happen? Tigers and bears. And elephants too go on a rampage when mistreated. And then the elephants start hurting spectators too.

They could issue a court injunction right now, based on that. I'll bet they could. Try it.

Utilitarianism says we should all strive to generate the most happiness or benefit for the greatest number. Motive isn't important to them, results are. That's the theory behind Fordism. And you vegans aren't going to go far showing gory pictures and trying to ban honey.

So to summarize, animals have the right to happiness and freedom from pain. But they don't have the same rights as humans. At least not at this point in human history. You vegans have an unrealistic approach to everything.

And get off this ridiculous subject of honey. Bees today have it good. I'd like to be reincarnated as a bee. With modern beekeeping they want for nothing and are treated like kings.

And animals in slaughterhouses can hear the animals in distress in the next room. They know something bad is about to happen to them. So, close the door. Or block the sound in some other way.

It's a simple step, but it would prevent a lot of suffering. Psychological suffering is still suffering. And since banning all meat is a pipe dream for now, I think working on that would be better way to spend our time and resources.

In my house we euthanized terminally ill animals when they were in any pain that affected the quality of life. Any pain like that, if it was terminal.

So to repeat the best approach to dogs and cats and overpopulation (and issues like no-kill shelters): spay and neuter. And, make it legally mandatory or a felony. Unless you are a licensed breeder.
