Like I've said, only humans have the right to life, liberty and happiness. Animals just have the right to be pain free and happiness. It's just not realistic to give them full rights now. Work on improving their present situation first.

And you know, vegetarianism is more realistic for most people. Aren't there any vegetarians left in this world? Or moderate animal rights activists? Or pro-defense liberals and Democrats? (Sorry, I'm trailing off here.)

    So...

My Advice To Vegans And PETA:

    • Win people over to your side by example, but have them come voluntarily.

    • Work for the gradual abolition of all meat, and transition over to vegetarianism by law.

    • Strengthen existing laws for animal welfare.

    • Enforce existing laws for animal welfare and sanitation in those factories and farms too.

Yeah, we should have tours of slaughterhouses. And executions should be public again, and at high noon outside. Some people will recoil in shock? Women and young children will cry? Even people who support those things will be outraged? Good, good and good. That is how they got reform done in the past. People are too sensitive now. They need to be shocked again. Shocked out the idyllic world they now live in, in their minds.

Another things about vegan cat owners. I wonder if they could be charged with animal abuse or neglect if they try to turn their cats into vegans. I know they mean well, but ASPCA poison control center even strongly advises against it. Cats are obligate carnivores. Their bodies literally evolved to only eat meat. Nutrients like taurine they can't even get from plant sources. And their digestive systems are not designed to break down plant material. A diet of meat is literally necessary for their survival. And there are between 600 million and 1 billion cats worldwide. You've got a solution to that?

Now technology did come to the rescue for insulin. There was a time when diabetics could only get insuline from pigs and cows. Now it can be synthesized with bacteria. But it is still very expensive in the US because the patent hasn't expired yet. Which is stupid because it's a matter of life and death for people with Type 1 Diabetes.

And gelatin is the only effective way of producing X-ray films. X-ray films are used not just for broken bones but to detect breast cancer too. Again, do you have a better way to deal with that? Rennet can be made from plant sources. That is why vegetarianism is still a good option if you don't want animals to suffer. Maybe vegans should fund some alternative for X-ray films. And help diabetics afford bioengineered insulin. Maybe just hire some lawyers to sue the drug company that won't surrender that patent.

I had two psychology classes in 1995 in a local college and they said that animal experimentation is still necessary for human psychology. I was outraged. But it is still necessary to cure deadly human, and animal, diseases. Yes it is, yes it is, yes it is. You got a better solution?

I would not worry about it. With all of the idiots that Trump had put in charge of Federal agencies Animal research will be a waste of money. We will probably start to use Conservative Christian Witch Doctors in the future. They will be able to pray to god for divine intervention.

    To review:

    Google AI Overview

Gelatin is necessary in X-rays because it is a key component of the emulsion layer on X-ray film, where it acts as a suspending agent for the silver halide crystals that are sensitive to radiation, allowing them to be evenly distributed and protected from damage while forming the latent image on the film; essentially, without gelatin, the X-ray film wouldn't be able to capture the image properly.

Key points about gelatin in X-ray film:

    Function:
Gelatin holds the silver halide crystals in place within the emulsion layer, which is crucial for capturing the X-ray image.

    Protection:
A thin layer of gelatin also acts as a protective coating on the film surface, safeguarding it from scratches and contamination.

    Film structure:
The X-ray film consists of a base material (like polyester) with a gelatin emulsion layer coated on one or both sides.

Meat tastes disgusting too. Vegan cuisine just tastes much better. Why don't you take your friends to your favorite vegan restaurant on a special occassion, or when you chose the restaurant they go to that night? And I'll bet they'll love it. And they might go there from time to time, even if they don't become vegan themselves.

    Lead by example.

So vegans, we are all obligated to choose a life of nonviolence. But as a practical matter, we still use deadly force sometimes to defend ourselves and others. We are all obligated to choose love and reverence for all creatures, total nonviolence and total veganism. But as a practical matter that won't get you far politically. So why don't you just work to strengthen existing laws, and enforce existing laws too. Work for the gradual abolition of meat. And for your friends, why don't you recommend vegetarianism? It is much more healthy too you know.

And you know, hunting can be banned right now, and it should be. It is totally unnecessary. Circus animals are unnessary, cruel and dangerous for the trainer. Angora is cruel and needs to be banned now. Wool, I don't know. Actually the sheep want to be sheared, just like cows want to be milked. Did you know that? It makes them more comfortable. It removes the parasites and makes them cooler in the Summer. But wool is unhealthy. And I find it itchy. So I don't know about that last one.

More thoughts (in a slightly different direction): not spaying or neutering should be illegal, maybe even a felony. Unless you are a licensed breeder.

The question about some animals is how do they feel pain, and how to they react to it emotionally. Don't laugh. When a lion trainer smacks the lion in the head, the lion thinks "Good! I deserved that. And my alpha male trainer is showing that he loves me". But circus animals is an example of unnecessary cruelty. And the lion trainer often gets hurt.

Now some animals do know they are fodder for other animals. So how do they feel about that? As I said, it's a good question.

Just to repond to some of the things I've read online posted by vegans about why it is wrong to eat meat: murdering animals, killing them, causing them pain and necrophagy (the eating of anything once it is dead) are four VERY different things. You vegans need to separate them. In your minds, and in your debates. And asking people to ban all meat (and honey too because you think sugar feeding is mean because your stealing their only possession, honey) is unrealistic politically. Why... don't you believe all those thing personally. And work with all of us for the gradual abolition of meat. Gradual abolition based on health reasons, sanitation, and the argument it is a barbaric and unnecessary in the 21st century.

The fact is that Meat produced in this country is heavily contaminated with Growth Hormones, Antibiotics, Fattening Hormones (to enhance profits). Many of these chemicals block the transport of insulin and causing Type 2 Diabetes. I think that the US Has the highest incidence of this disease in the world. If you have to eat meat buy grass fed, organic, free range products at a much higher price and save your life. Generic Hamburger is garbage and it is not fit for human consumption or pet food.

And... Why don't you vegans just work for better health and medical standards in slaughterhouses and fish farms? You know that would improve the quality of lives of the animals there. Instead of spoiling your chances of getting anywhere politically by saying you're against sugar feeding for bees and making everyone laugh. When bees like humans probably prefer processed sugar anyways.

Not all plant based dieters have the same reasons for not eating animal protein. In my case it is for my health and longevity. The fact is that all but three of the essential amino acids are manufactured in the human body with the correct raw ingredients. The two of the essential amino acids not manufactured in the body are found in Rice and Beans and/or other plants. The third called Vitamin B12 is available at your local pharmacy and needs to be taken as a tiny pill once a week. So what is the point of devoting so much land toward raising cattle. We could have enough cattle ranches to produce leather and dairy products for those who need dairy for growth and enjoyment.

Thank you Wally Pitcher for you reply.

Um, but animal testing for mental health research I don't know. Human rights still come before animal rights. When they pay the bills and can solve global warming we'll be equals, not before. But mental health issues are sometimes issues of life and death...

Also, Washington and Jefferson were personally strongly opposed to slavery even though they owned them. And Abraham Lincoln was pretty racist by today's standard, but he is responsible for the 13th, 14th and 15th amendments which ended slavery and gave us all equal protection to this day. I'd give animal rights moderates some credit. And they have more support so they get more done.

So to repeat, and make clear. Hunting, circus animals, horseback riding and fur are all totally unnecessary, very cruel and they can be banned right now. Plus few people do them anyways, and the first three put the human in danger too.
