Bottom line is Israel does not need help form the U.S they have one of the best militarys in the world. On the other hand I can't wait until we Bomb the shit out of Irans nuke plants.

i would love to believe your story but..........

having recently visited syria (some 4 weeks ago i think) to do some sightseeing at historical sites all over the country and speaking to many people and using my own eyes and ears for information on the ground i can tell you this..

i find it hard to believe this event has occurred.

why?

the syrian police and other authorities seemed extremely relaxed. driving by their military sites it would seem that most of them spend the day sleeping or drinking tea. if syria had been under attack and stuff had been blown up with major damage it is unlikely that i would have been allowed in the country and whilst in the country, the police when i encountered them would have scrutinised a foreigner a lot harder than usual. nothing i saw in that country suggested that anything had happened.

like most things of this nature, word gets out and quickly. the mood on the streets was relaxed and unconcerned with no hostility to me as a foreigner (in fact i found syrians as a people the most straight forward and honest of any of the countries i visited).

i tend to believe very little of whats fed to me these days

who knows maybe i'm wrong but from what i've experienced first hand nothing appears to have happened apart from an israeli journalist visiting the site in syria and finding nothing as well. these "news stories" just seem to be the usual fare in the march to war you need to create news to make more of it happen.

 

Wow Skip What a great Movie script that would be but thats about it. Please show me some facts to back up your far out story. Bashar al-Assad Syrias leader would love if the US had any thing to do with the Bombing. He would have every news organization in the world there. Al Jazeera would have a field day with a story like that and so would every other leader in the world who hates the US. Russia and China would have the UN security council call a emergency meeting over this.And the U.S would never use tactical nukes for a small raid like that to begin with. They would only use them in major all out Wars before you use Big Megaton Bombs. The US also knows that from even a tactical nuke the fall out could spread up to 100 miles away. When we Hit Irans nuke plants in a few months from now we won't even use Tactical nukes for that we will use are new 30,000 pound Bunker buster with regular Bunker Busters, then after the first wave of the Attack we will follow that up with cruise Missles and regular Bombing from B52's and Air craft carrier based Jets.

i think the problem is that america and its coalition of the "willing" have done so many stupid things it is hard not to believe that they've done another stupid thing. i find it extremely hard to believe syria would allow someone to come into their country and annihilate a major installation, secret or not. this kind of reaction would have provoked a major reaction from syris and its allies.

the real story is the sanctions that will ultimately be imposed on iran. these sanctions when they come into force will provoke the most savage of responses because the neighbouring countries of iraq have seen what sanctions do - cripple them before a massive invasion. this is why there is no way in hell iran et al will ever negotiate because they understand that these "negotiations" ultimately lead to death and destruction. this is the problem of false negotiations.

the secular populace of mainland usa have, like the israelis, been signed up to fight a war for the religious fanatics that have taken over their main branches of government. this why you hear calls from normal americans and israelis saying "why can't we have peace"?

like afghanistan, america and israel will too share the same fate because religious fanatics have started declaring war on all and sundry. why on earh would a weakened war torn country like afghanistan ever launch a war on the worlds number 1 superpower?

because god told them to do it.

the taliban were in charge of the country that openly sheltered usama bin laden when he openly declared himself to have organised an atack on the usa killing many people. the usa instead of going through the normal legal channels of declaring war and asking the UN what it thought, charged into a minefield cheered on by religious bodies of the usa .

the taliban believed that allah would protect them, the religious bodies in the government of the "west" believed jehova or god would help them and provide the superior moral imperative for war. what you have going on in afghanistan and iraq is a religious war fuelled by the prospect of total control of the major oil fields of the middle east.

people are trying to find reason and order from a situation that has no reason or order. when religious bodies take over all sorts of stupid thing happen. you cannot reason with anyone infected by religion. if you have ever spoken to someone like this they believe all sorts of silly things that defy even the lowest levels of logic as they wave their holy book at you.

psychologically it is easier to go to actual war with a country you have already "attacked" than one that you haven't. if the the average joe on the street believes syria has already been bombed it makes it a lot easier for the government to go to war with syria (strange as that may seem). i would be highly surprised if anything at all has been attacked.

 

Wow skip I hope you are right about this the more I thought about it. I hope we do have tecnology that can block out there radar systems. I would love that. Its not like we don't own the skies now of the world this would just put more icing on the cake !!!!

 

I can't go into details but we do have systems that not only can jam radar, but TV, radio and cell signals. the systems can also make it appear that one aircraft is tens and entering the airspace from a different direction.

The USAF has had radar jamming capabilities since the late 60's. The EF-111 was the top of the heap in the 80's and used in the raid on Libya, knocking out their radar sites. the USN's EA-6B Prowler also uses the ALQ-99 tactical jamming system and the USQ-113 communication jamming system

I worked on the F-111 and F-16 when I was in the USAF

 

txbarefooter when we attack a enemy the first thing we do is try to knock out his radar and tracking systems right ? With out that they are pretty much blind and all there surface to air Missles and AA guns are firing blind also. In your opinion do you think we could knock out Chinas radar quick ? how is Chinas technology is it close to par with ours of years behind ?

 

Why should China worry they can send and sell polluted goods to our country. And we will buy them. In a way it's more effective than a nuclear bomb.

yep, usually the command and control centers are the first things you want to take out and without those it is difficult to set up a coordinated defense.

China is a very large area, has advanced radar and missle systems and would be nearly impossible to take out all of China's radar installations even if you had a time on target attack. They use the old Soviet idea of quantity over quality but they have quality also.

The systems may be the some of the latest Russian hardware, but the control software most likely isn't because you don't want a possible future foe to have your best technology.
