    Give your list of what is the best jam band artists of all time. My list is as follows.
    1. Grateful Dead
    2. Phish
    3. Widespread Panic
    4. String Cheese
    5. Moe.

    Dont forget the jam bands of old. Santana, Pink Floyd, the Wailers, Big Brother, Jefferson Airplane. These folks used to jam with as much intenstity as the Grateful Dead. In my mind I believe Santana actually popularized improvisational music before the Dead made it big. Santana was the first real "jam band"

    I know alot of people may hate me for this, but I think Phish is a better jamband than the Grateful Dead

    hell yeah, you have to have some bluegrass on that list. but i'd still say wsp should be on the top 5 list and i think hookah has the potential to be on that list soon.

    oh man I can't believe hendrix is on nobodies list!! he is the God of guitar jams....he can't be beat!

    as far as santana being the first jammer......I'm pretty sure the dead had him beat by jamming as the Warlocks in the early 60's....even they say they got there jam style from ottis redding

    as for my favs.....(in a random order)
