I agree, Piaf. It is going to sound ridiculous, but I don't naturally lust after people until/unless I know them. It's hard for me to be attracted to someone if I don't know their brain. Celebrities might seem attractive on the outside, but when you read interviews/books about them...what comes out of their mouths can seem vacuous. Just like 'normal' people.
i can appreciate someone's good looks regardless of their personality. doesn't mean i would want a relationship with that person. take piaf for example. i'm pretty sure i've seen a picture of her on here. she's doesn't have a great personality and is pretty bitchy on the forums, but she's still hot.
Come on guys. You're reading way too much into this. Just let me be superficial for a minute please I'm not saying I want to marry or even have a conversation with these people. I'm just saying I appreciate their beauty and wouldn't mind taking that for a spin. That's all. Nothing more. I don't need to know their personalities. I don't have posters hanging on my bedroom wall with hearts drawn all over it. I'm just simply saying that they look delicious and I'd love to give it a taste. It's human nature to be physically attracted to people based on looks alone. I'm not saying that's what you should base your REAL relationships on but I think its natural to take notice when you see someone you think is attractive. This is a totally superficial, based on looks alone thread that is meant to be fun.
It's not an issue of crushing or not crushing on celebrities. It's an issue of sensitively about the matter. Getting butt hurt about the fact that married/ taken people still finding others attractive is ridiculous.
It is incredibly ridiculous...comittment is when we make a decision to steer clear of wanting a relationship that is not in agreement with the people we are committed to, however whatever makes a person attractive to someone doesn't magically change because of a commitment to someone else - be the attraction physical or otherwise. Fantasies and crushes are natural...that is why so much money is made off of them.
I agree with MAMA. I don't really lust over any celebrities, and think the obsession some people have with them is beyond stupid, but when it comes to people like themnax, he goes out of his way to state he disgrees with something when it would be better off just ignored if it annoys him that much. It seems like when he posts, it's almost always to post his contrary view, which he is entitled to do. It just gets annoying after a while, especially when his threads are often riddled with spelling and grammatical errors.
Amongst celebrities, I think Olga Kurylenko would be pretty fun in RL. She's beautiful (obviously). But she seems to have good values, a perceptive mind with a creative passion. And I've got other things in common with her. On the downside, I wonder what what the hell she sees in podgy 50 something "Hollywood royalty" Danny Huston.. Shakira seems to be quite fun, but I don't look at her and say "woooowwwww".. Actually, I agree with some of the comments above. Once you know someone you think is perfect for you.. (values, interests, lots of things in common), a celebrity is basically a VERY poor alternative. When I'm out, I sometimes see a famous sportman who's considered a real "sex symbol" in the public eye, sort of super cool. He IS a really nice guy in real life, but I don't think women would see him in the same way as his public persona once they got to know him. In a way "celebrity" isn't a real thing, its a perception. Something for the media.
So, how would this thread have gone if everyone responded with, Bob and Kim, down the street instead of celebrities that the rest of us recognized or go to google to learn about? How miserable are you all that you can't even take a silly little thread?
o.o :smilielol5: The one from The IT crowd / Jen The one from Not going out / Lucy The one from Broad church / Ellie The one from The Bletchley Circle / Susan The one from Coronation Street / Eva
Anyone in this thread is bound to get starstruck by at least one celeb, from whatever they are into Anyone who claims otherwise is just trying to sound cool, but full of themselves If it was anyone from Return of the Jedi, Dawsons Creek, Slayer or Gums n Roses, I'd giggle like a little schoolgirl
Not that strange. Just funny. Both parts of the name wrong. How hard is to get his name right? Bread pit! ? Doh...
