Retarded serving staff annoy me the most. And bringing out the wrong order. I got a BLT without the L the other day..... die!

I think those kitchen/wait staff have to have an IQ of 5 to be that much of a tard. Or think that the patron won't notice??????

I used to hate having to clean the bathrooms when I worked at a restaurant. It seems like the minute people leave home they forget how to fucking aim! The hole in the toilet is pretty fucking big! And what's with all the toilet paper all over the floor?

I know what you mean! I love a good chicken sandwich, but I like it plain! That means nothing on it, not even cheese or mayonnaise. What's so hard about that?

Waaaa, I didn't ask for a refil and got one, and my friends don't have the brains to speak up, and I can't deal with the things that one encounters in public.

Well fucking fine, don't go out in public then, or at least don't go to resturants with the good grace to give you prompt refils when food's taking a while. The public won't miss YOU, either.

LOL ^ Having worked in the food service industry in varying positions, as a cook now...for at least 16 yrs; you said a FACT.

If you don't like the service, you don't want to tip for whatever cheap and obscure reason, then go the hell on thru Hardee's, McDonald's or better yet - get a pizza delivered to your lazy butt. Having worked with the public and food, I have encountered the Most Fattest and Jackassed people.

And come on...lets here it for complaining because somebody gives you a refill and you weren't ready. You are probably the same jackass that comes in 30 minutes or less before closing time and expects the poor ppl to wait on you hand and foot - with your 2 - 4 children. grrrr

I had a special time tonight. Can you tell? :D

the exchange rate indicates that as our minimum wage is just below £6, you would earn just under $10 an hour for the same work in the america, under the same system.

are you telling me that you would prefer people tip you, with $2.50 an hour, under any circumstance

or wouldn't you prefer $10 an hour, where if you genuinely offer good service there's a great opportunity you could be given a further £2 ($4?) on top of that? thought so, blame your government.

so you are right, the worker is entitled to a fair minimum wage. i think you misunderstood me, i wasn't saying otherwise.

i'm just saying that's all the job deserves, it's not skilled work per say - it's tacit, i tip my hairdresser more so because they provide a service i could not perform.

Living in Asia for 6 months has given me a healthy new respect for not tipping.

Tipping shouldn't be obligatory. It's a scam to pay less if anything. People work for $2 a DAY here, and most western people don't tip out of obligation because they feel it isn't expected. I worked at a bar here and wasn't tipped.

So I only tip for good service. And will if I ever go back to the states too. Because most of the service I've received at restaurants wasn't spectacular, and it isn't any harder work than a girl at McDonalds. If anything it's over glorified.

Give me my salad leave me alone. If you're charming and interesting, expect a tip. If not, try to work on becoming charming and interesting.

yeah fuck you too. delivery drivers rely on tips more than waiters, since that pays for their gas too.

I hate the whole mandatory tipping thing in the states. I know that you do it because you get paid shit all but I still hate it. I want to know what I'm paying upfront, not have to add on 15% all the time. I only tip here when it's good service and that's how it should be.

Oxymoron, there's no such thing as mandatory tipping. Two tables in a restaurant to the same exact waitress can respectively leave $1 and $15 each.

My friend and I used to go to this little bar/pizza place in downtown Savannah almost every night, and each time we'd leave a $40-$50 tip for what would generally be a $5 order. We were young, working at the railroads with about 30 hours of overtime each week and had more money than we knew what to do with.
Eventually we were treated like family at this place. I'm sure the waitresses didn't mind our visits either. Fun times, thanks tipping system.
