I've never heard anything by Tool and I don't care to change that either. Oh, the blissful ignorance!

Just like Dream Theater and Opeth and Agalloch and Pink Floyd and whatnot everyone is always trying to get you to listen while I've already made my mind up about those bands long ago without ever having heard them.

I too looked at it this way before. I hate it when fanboys ruin bands. Of course, I form my opinion based on how a band sounds, but its just all the better when there aren't fanboys shoving 10 000 fists or days or whatever up their asses and trying to encourage you to do the same... (disturbed ref? i think so)

I wonder how many supposed pink floyd fans think that pink floyd is the vocalist or something.

It is all the better when the band people try to shove down other's throats isn't even all that great, which is most often the case...

there should be a lot of threads on Tool THEY KICK ASS!! haha i saw them in vegas and it blew my mind. Such a fuckin awesome concert. They opened with Jambi and closed with lateralus. ooh a word of advice dont wait for an encore they dont do them. Tool kicks ass!!!

I don't know if you knew this, but when I said Tool is "like" a trend, it means that they are "like" a trend, and not necessarily "a" trend. It's ok though, I've said stupid things in the past too, I'm sure.

i never said that i didn't like pink floyd. i happen to enjoy listening to them. but this is a tool thread.

 

I think s/he meant me. And I didn't say I didn't like them, I said there are so many people constantly talking on and on and on about them that I lost every reason to ever check them out. Somehow, if everyone's always praising the same band, I don't even want to hear it anymore. Pink Floyd, Tool, Opeth, The Beatles... I discover more bands than i can keep up with anyway.

Also, the word 'progressive' alone is enough to make my dick floppy.

 

I hate it when people ruin bands/songs by becoming too associated with them. Some songs I can't hear without thinking "person" because they were so fan-boy'ish about them. This isn't always a bad thing, I suppose, but it is really shitty when it is, lol.

 

We are the elite. hahahahahaha.

PF have a few good songs, if you cut all the shit songs, you'd probably have one good album. haha. maybe a bit more, not much, imo.

 

I love Tool to death! i love the way he sings and the way they write. the bass! im seeing them in IL on june 27th. at thhe sears centre...anyone goin?

SEEING TOOL IN LESS THAN 24 HOURS.

 

Tool is godly amazing, u cant get into them by only listening to a few songs, thats not how Tool works. Its a band for more sophisticated tastes, their music is ingenious and beautifully put together

OH!!! if you're going/have seen them this tour. can you tell me what songs they sang? if you can even remember.. cause i gotta write down the lyrics for my mom...yes shes going with me....and i gotta know what they sing cause they have fuckin long lyrics that I dont wanna write and I diont have a printer....
