some of you guys are fucking disgusting. there is little to no evidence that he killed anyone, just the words of criminals. you are dangerously naive if you think that people dont lie to save their own skins. you are also dangerously naive if you believe that criminal justice systems NEVER convict an innocent man. but mostly, someone said that "so what if he didnt kill anyone, what about the robberies, and the crimes that were never punished?" are you fucking serious? you want to play God instead of letting karma and God take over? fucking disgusting. both Jesus and Buddha said that you should never take revenge on a person, you should always forgive. let God deal with them. none of you are God, are you? may Christ have mercy on all your hypocritical souls... what if he really didnt kill anybody? would you lie about it just to save yourself? some of you people are amazing. wow. the ignorance some of you are expressing is just downright wrong whatever wow....
Yeah it's true, there is no honor among theives. soulrebel51, For one as young as you are, you assert yourself as someone with in depth knowledge on several topics. The case against Tookie Williams, and the teachings of God, Jesus and Buddah. Tell me, what does the bible teach about judging others? And by what authority do you judge me or anyone else here in need of divine mercy? Is anyone who expresses an opinion you don't agree with... You've chosen an angry and disrespectful way to share your thoughts on the divine nature of love, forgiveness and mercy. If you ever want your voice to be heard by the opposition you should avoid cursing them in your opening statement. I was once part of a bible study group that visited the local jail once a week. After the lesson one night an inmate asked me to pray with him for his release. He claimed that he was innocent of the robbery he was accused of. I believed him, but before we prayed I asked him how many robberies he had comitted that he got away with. He hesitated, then he confessed to three. You see, whether you believe in Kharma, God or natural law, every action has a reaction. What comes around goes around. By his own admission, Tookie Williams helped establish and promote an extensive empire of violence, bloodshed, crime and debauchery that will continue to victimize truely innoocent people even after he is dead. I'm sure that there are people who have been executed who were entirely innocent of the crime they were convicted of and perhaps of any other evil. Many innocent people died in the 9/11 attack also. It happens. But with DNA testing, new technology and an extensive appeals process, our legal system is designed to give a person sentenced to death every possible chance to avoid that fate. And finally, considering the violent activities of the Crips, would you deny the probability that he likely got away with murder(s) before he was ever convicted of the ones that put him in jail? Instead of desiring mercy on my soul friend, perhaps you should desire it for his. Wow, what a concept? Peace - Trystn
Just once Id like to see this Tookie Williams say "I did it, it was wrong and I will go to my execution to demonstrate for others who were like me this is what I deserve". Im not saying that evens him out for what he did - but he would earn credit for righting the wrong as much as he could. Instead this guy doesnt apologise or even admit it? CNN had a man who spent 10 years on Death Row for a crime he did not commit. When asked what should happen to Tookie Wiliams he replied: "He should be executed". Surprise! Fact is, if you did what he did to four of his family members - and let just say you were just a 'crew member' and did NOT actually fire the bullets but were part of it (as Tookie claims). Heres the irony: Tookie Williams would have, NO QUESTION, executed you on the spot and not a single person in the world would have told him he was wrong to do it. In fact he would have garnered major 'respect' and 'juice' from all for killing you. Actually.. you would be LUCKY if he just executed you for doing that to his family. Probably a horrifying death and the execution of anyone in the room with you too. Revenge - No. Eliminating the problem - Yes. BTW.. I will GUARAN-FERKING-TEE you for a fact that Capital Punishment is extremely effective in discouraging similar offenses among the criminal elements. The reason the 'State' version is not very effective is because ..lol.. TWENTY FIVE YEARS LATER and even then you always got a shot at getting it overturned or voted out anyways. Whats that all about anyways? 25 years the guy gets food, clothing, celebrity, safety and sexual relations, writes books and becomes a healthy old man. 5 Years is ridiculous.
i agree with bochs, and i don't believe in the death penalty. this whole execution was politically based to help get arnold re-elected. why is john lennon's killer in jail and alive, why is charles manson in jail still and alive? and why did they kill tookie williams? to help get the conservative vote back for gov arnold terminator. angel
i seriously thought tookie was a southpark character that people had to vote to kill off the show or not until yesterday.. i am so out of the "whats going on in the world" loop
WTF? he had been convicted and sentenced to death before arnold was even a megastar, let alone governor of california.
And like whatever. Dude says that killing him by lethal injection is barbaric. Yeah, right. And executing someone with a shot to the back of the head over the contents of a register, and starting a street gang that is responsible for hundreds of deaths is NOT?
yes but it was up to gov arnold to make the deciding factor of whether he lived or died angel i live in sacramento and was at the candle light vigil most of the night last night
6 years in solitary confindment can change ANYONE, really it makes you go crazy......but in his terms he turned crazy in a different way, he had a chance to reflect on his life. - I always thought of it this way.. What if your mom was at that 7-11 just bbuying some groceries and got shot in cold blood for a couple hundred bucks....would that not make you mad inside...trust me i have never felt hate....only dislike....but if he KILLED 4 people he obviously didn't learn anything after killing the first person..... 4 PEOPLE HE KILLED not just one, but 4 familys have lost someone, because of this man and he should pay the penalty! and he did...yes it is sad someone had to die, but he already killed four people and he did not cry for those people.
Nothing to do with who he is, who he was. The law says if you cap someone, you die. He capped someone. He's dead. Adios.
Ignorance.....there is proof that he killed people...lots of proof...not just "lies" come on now he killed someone and a family at 7-11 over a couple hundred bucks in the register.... How can anyone be redeemed and forgiven for killing another person...and for stealing? Oh and God is ALL FORGIVING and MERCIFUL, it is said that God forgives all sins even murder.....I DONT BELIEVE IN HELL.....Catholics made that up to scare people lol
RE: both Jesus and Buddha said that you should never take revenge on a person, you should always forgive I am neither Buddhist nor Christian.
So a lifetime in prison wouldn't be enough penalty? Plus, if he had lived, he could have saved more than four lives... Too late now, I suppose.
Once his sentence was commuted, I'm sure he would have tapered off the whole "I'm pretending to be a good boy to get to live" stuff.
Yes, it was under Arnold's control to reverse the death penalty. (Btw, I am almost always against capital punishment) But... I have a hard time holding Arnold in fully responsible for Williams' execution. He was already stentenced to death, he had been on death row. Arnold didn't put him on death row. Arnold rejected his plea, as did the Court. I'm usually anti-Arnold on almost every political issue, but I can't see why people are making Arnold responsible for an already sentenced man's execution. And yes, I know that he had the power to reverse the sentence, but denying it doesn't make him the one who sentenced Williams to death.
the people of california overwhelmingly are in favor of the death penalty. Is this not democracy? Oh, i forgot, democracy is only good when it agrees with what you want... oh, and please spare the slavery, female suffrage retort...
..even if people want to retort with it - Slavery LOST to democracy didnt it? Women did get the vote didnt they? But anyways, neither of those are this issue. I figure this guy could have at least apologised for what part he took in this. If he did - I never heard about it. Jesse Jackson resurfaced again to somehow (amazingly) make this appear as some sort of civil rights issue facing the 'black community' (huh?) Tookie Williams (supporters) have somehow made it very appealing to murder people for money, then start a vicious criminal organisation and as long as you reject it while on Death Row - you are really an awesome guy who is to be admired and held up high, even when there is no apology for murdering innocent people? Look, maybe the guy really did turn his life over and thats great. Im not down on that and its a good thing. I honestly hope the man has gone onto forgiveness and eternity with God. Im just saying that we still have to pay the consequences for our actions. Im not 'Happy' someone is executed - but Im relieved for the families of the victims and for knowing this guy is eliminated from the pool. If it makes anyone else think twice about murdering women for some cash register money then all the better. Arnie did the right thing in this case. Its all popular to bash him now but really it has nothing to do with him. Its not like he has some King like authority to 'do whatver he wants whenever he wants' anyways. For him to invoke a Pardon requires some very very signifigant reasons and not just some 'gut feelings'. You do NOT WANT a governor with that kind of easy power anyways. Otherwise you pretty much make a mockery out of the Judicial system.
